Borla XR-1 Mufflers Sound clip- 1971 Plymouth Scamp- Mopar
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Not many sound clips of these mufflers up so I thought I would put one up...my camera definitely makes it sound quieter than it is. My 71' Scamp sounds MEAN with these!
360 smallblock mopar, 8.5:1 compression (stock 1991 junkyard bottomend), 1-5/8 heddman headers into a 3" x-pipe exhaust with 3" borla XR-1 race mufflers dumped at the rear axle.

One of the best sounding V-8 I've ever heard. It is like thousands of drums, or should I say it is thundering. It mumbles sooooo well. Deserves its name. All the best.
Great car, amazing sound. Your neighbors must love you, congratulations.
One sick mopar.
That's one mean sounding Mopar after a lot of comparing sound clips these are by far the best sounding mufflers especially with a nice cam.
Beautiful Scamp. Sounds great!
Love these cars. Nice colour, and the wheels really stand out. They go well with the car. Exhaust sounds wicked. Hope the neighbours weren't peeved with you revving it. People can be funny sometimes.
Clean Mopar bro. Tastefully done.
Great looking and sounding ride!!!
This will never get old.🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🏁🏁🏁🔥🔥🔥
Damn, I think this video might have sold me on the XR-1's for my Dart! That sounds awesome!
SHARP RIDE BRO! SOUNDS GOOD TOO!
Even the old mopar small blocks have a pretty unique sound to them
awesome car and sound ....like the choice of Wheel
Super clean awesome job
Love the and had an eargasm when you revved it. That license plate ain't bad either. Great job bud, very tasteful car.
I freakin love this car!!
Sounds awesome!
Love the color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Def. one of the best looking scamp's on youtube. Can't say i like the black in the center later, but it's not my car :))
Nice sounding
Love this car!
sounds amazing these sound better than the dynomax imo
Very nice Scamp
@Digitlcommunist thanks! the camera really doesn't capture how well it sounds, but thats usually the problem with these videos The cam is a custom hydraulic roller ground spec'd by IMM engines
awesome!
Can't remember now to be honest with ya...I believe it was 230 duration at .050", .587 int/.567 exh lift, cut on a 106lsa..was meant to give me as much power as possible and pump up the cylinder pressure with the low octane (still ran like a bat outta hell on 87 too!)
Dude take us for a ride!
Hey I appreciate the thought, I jumped on looking for exactly that. And the comment about the camera toning it down helps as well. So I still have a couple questions hoping you could answer for me. How many cubic inches is the motor, what is the compression ratio ? Oh, very nice ride btw. Thanx again. I keep checking back ...
sounds good, I like that license plate too lol
Perfect
Awesome
damn, 8.5:1 or so compression, i bet it could run regular haha. thats kinda cool actually
Perfect!!!!!!
Sounds bad ass
Sounds great! Are these the single core or multi-core XR-1 ovals? Looking at potential replacement for my 3" Spintech Sportsmans.
This car is absolute perfection. What color is this?
maybe slightly, but nothing wrong with letting it breathe...plus I wanted the exhaust to be setup for growing into...its going to be fully used now with the pump gas 408 being dropped in
Nice dart
Love the sound what Borla Xr-1 muffler is that. is there a model number or thats the actual muffler name?
What size cam? sounds awesome
that is one great looking car what color is that looks darker than sub lime green
Beutifull dart
what size cam ? I'm building a 360 for my 65 dart 2 door post
👌
What brand wheels do you have on that beast?
what is this for a car? VERY NICE!
What’s the part number on these are they oval or round
Great sound.. Is that a Dart with a valiant or Duster frontend?

That exactly right. Scamp with Duster front clip.
Opps sorry about that. I just looked at the rest of the comments and answers. So 9:1 on the soft side and just a 340 small block? That tells me a lot. My customers car is a LS3 525hp crate motor with a few tweaks. So I can safely assume it would be on the heavy side of savage. Does anyone know what happened to the inline Super Trapps they used to make? I checked Summit and Jeggs no go. ??
If i remember correctly they are 12" body, and end to end is either 16" or 18"...but I could be wrong...All I remember is that I went for the shortest ones
Did you 3 inch inboard and minitub kit ? Or custom fabd ? Looks sweet !

@@hpbunker that's a great looking scamp. I have a 70 swinger.
round xr1s or oval?
What is the suspension set up? I'm sure you had to mini tub it. Is there a company that you bought from or pieced it together? Nice stance

No kit, widened the factory wells. It currently has caltrac bars with their split mono leafs and viking double adjustable shocks
Uuuuhhh... hot
I have scoured the Internet and can't find those exact wheels. The look like Weld Magnum but I can't find any that aren't 2 or 3 piece wheels. I want the one piece which looks like what you have. Do you know what they are?

Center Line Rev?
no idea, all I know is they are the more race one of the two options Borla has, the louder ones
Well actually, you'll increase you torque in the low to mid range with smaller piping say 2 1/2. 3 inch piping will only be beneficial to that motor if its turning 6,000 RPM's or more. But that is a very sharp car.

If your mouth was smaller...it would probably produce less stupid comments too....just so ya know.
me jealous [ but i'm putting Thrush Rattlers on my projects...... used to use purple hornies]
my neighbors are pretty good about the cars...I don't usually sit in the driveway and act like a doofus revving my engine constantly anyways, so this one time was not a big deal for them
What part number is it?
Mopar purple cam shaft ?
@hpbunker
2 ай бұрын
Nope, custom Comp hydraulic roller with XE lobes
centerline rev's, they are a copy of weld magnum wheels...but after ordering these things I would NEVER do business with centerline again unless the vendor you are ordering from can gurantee they have them in stock on their shelf..if not, you will get a run around from centerline- I waited 5 months when they were supposed to take 2 weeks
what compression is your motor?
@hpbunker
10 жыл бұрын
This motor was lucky if it had 9:1...Was a stock bottom end junkyard motor, .020" thick head gaskets, ran on 87 octane junk gas all the time

+green manalishi 9:1 compression hahaha, i'm thinking on around 13:1 with a big lift cam. your run roller or solid flat tap cam shaft ?
How much horsepower?

Where’s the popcorn/ugly rims as well!
well since it looks like you don't answer questions that people ask,i was wondering if your exhaust was dumped,i think it is because of the deep tone, anybody else ? what do y'all think ? i think they are just dumped down with no tips.

onewheelup I think if you read the video description your question would be answered and you wouldn't be whining about questions not being answered

Yea...if you were paying attention and reading his print...it explains exactly that ....says DUMP'ED AT THE REAR AXLE....(geeez sum of you are dumb.....LOL)
ovals
3 inch pipe is too big for that motor
@jeremywillis6122
6 жыл бұрын
Pipe diameter depends on your horsepower level anything over 500 horsepower usually needs a 3" pipe and it steps up as hp is increased to breathe good.
