Borla XR-1 Mufflers Sound clip- 1971 Plymouth Scamp- Mopar

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Not many sound clips of these mufflers up so I thought I would put one up...my camera definitely makes it sound quieter than it is. My 71' Scamp sounds MEAN with these!
360 smallblock mopar, 8.5:1 compression (stock 1991 junkyard bottomend), 1-5/8 heddman headers into a 3" x-pipe exhaust with 3" borla XR-1 race mufflers dumped at the rear axle.

One of the best sounding V-8 I've ever heard. It is like thousands of drums, or should I say it is thundering. It mumbles sooooo well. Deserves its name. All the best.

Love these cars. Nice colour, and the wheels really stand out. They go well with the car. Exhaust sounds wicked. Hope the neighbours weren't peeved with you revving it. People can be funny sometimes.

Can't remember now to be honest with ya...I believe it was 230 duration at .050", .587 int/.567 exh lift, cut on a 106lsa..was meant to give me as much power as possible and pump up the cylinder pressure with the low octane (still ran like a bat outta hell on 87 too!)

Hey I appreciate the thought, I jumped on looking for exactly that. And the comment about the camera toning it down helps as well. So I still have a couple questions hoping you could answer for me. How many cubic inches is the motor, what is the compression ratio ? Oh, very nice ride btw. Thanx again. I keep checking back ...

Opps sorry about that. I just looked at the rest of the comments and answers. So 9:1 on the soft side and just a 340 small block? That tells me a lot. My customers car is a LS3 525hp crate motor with a few tweaks. So I can safely assume it would be on the heavy side of savage. Does anyone know what happened to the inline Super Trapps they used to make? I checked Summit and Jeggs no go. ??

Well actually, you'll increase you torque in the low to mid range with smaller piping say 2 1/2. 3 inch piping will only be beneficial to that motor if its turning 6,000 RPM's or more. But that is a very sharp car.

centerline rev's, they are a copy of weld magnum wheels...but after ordering these things I would NEVER do business with centerline again unless the vendor you are ordering from can gurantee they have them in stock on their shelf..if not, you will get a run around from centerline- I waited 5 months when they were supposed to take 2 weeks

Pipe diameter depends on your horsepower level anything over 500 horsepower usually needs a 3" pipe and it steps up as hp is increased to breathe good.
