Love Boris of this era
Boris "on Fire" in his last Grand-Slam-Final! AND - one of his best Matches EVER!
One of the days when Becker had this aura of "invincibility" on court. Like him or not, but that man has charisma.
Oh, it's the best match of professional tennis player Boris Becker's career😮 👍☝️🙄🎾
And indeed 96 was the last great season Boris ever played. Also he played that epic ATP finals final against Sampras.
Becker seems to be pretty good all rounder, other than his speed at baseline, he seems to be well adapt at baseline game. Wondering why he not more successful?

My opinion is Becker was never 100 percent focused and had too many distractions throughout his whole career. He should have won more than he did. He could have worked more on his speed as well as he got older.

Chang's baseline game was steady rather than powerful, so he could not pressure Becker from the baseline, this has been a problem for Chang through out of his career, Chang won his only grand slam level match against Sampras in 1989 FO but was never able to win a grand slam level match against Sampras on grass and hard court. Chang also had problem with Edberg after his 89 FO victory against Edberg, for about 4 years Edberg won most of their duels . Later on during Chang's career he tried to serve harder to get free points on his serve and also use serve and volley sparingly as a surprise tactic, both tactics did not deliver the result, Chang often overserved and had lower first serve percentages, his volley was technically sound but was still weak.

Off-court drama derailed him after 1991.

Becker looks like Vincent Van Gogh
Boris becker bester mann
Unfortunately, Michael Chang was not very good at conserving energy. He get too emotionally charged up after a good play sometimes.
The game move.
When Boris got older he become a little podgy, bigger etc. It affected his speed on court. Circa 1990 onwards it's a downward spiral.
Chang no weapons

Amazing he got so far- he really had nothing except speed. The Hewitt of his generation. An average player overall

And in 20 years the best players will be able to “smash” the current crew. Grow up.

Give Medvedev with his horrible technique and brainless game a wooden racket and he will lose against 55 years old Sampras today! What Becker‘s generation played with their rackets was unbelievable. Better volleyskills like all players thereafter!
Boring, rallies what rallies.
