My group and I used to go there and serve the orphanages. We couldn't go there now due to the difficult disposition with Mexican Customs and Borders to go back to the US, and there was high crime in its region. You both took impromptu adventure.

It used to be possible to take the train from Campo to Tecate for a brewery tour and some shopping and dining, then the train would take you back to Campo. They don't do that anymore, though.
