its a smooth coat border collie. smooth collies are different, they are the short coated version of the rough collie or ‘lassie dog’

Ok, Border Collie is more intelligent. But who is more wholesale dog? The answer is the greatest German Shepherd, they are intelligent too not upto the levels of the border collie, but they make up on various other areas - they will always know when you are coming back home, if it's after the day of work then on your doors - and try changing your arrival time, yet they somehow will figure it out. And if you are coming after a substantial time then that wait will be on the gates and not on the doors. They are the best dog breed in the world, period. P.S. I have a Golden Retriever boy, and I love him a lot. But I had a GSD earlier. So, my comment is based on my experience with him. Although, I love ALL of them

I like every dogs. My favourite the g shephard. Everybody is different...😅😅😅

The GSD isn't trained yet. He will learn quickly if there's a mentor dog around him. And the collie isn't a purebred, but that's not important.

Everyone thought my smooth coat was a Labrador because she was mostly black. All the critters she herded knew better. This one could be a McNab though.

Border collies are smarter, I have one, and my friend has a gsd, BC's respond so commands better, but they are both brilliant dogs!

if you can handle and teach dogs right the german shepard is doing the same things.

Border Collies are Smarter, faster and more agile, German Shepherds are stronger, more obedient and more loyal.

​ @khurramaltaf5098 sorry to break it to you, I've had both so I'm speaking from experience. I love both breeds, they each have their strengths. My BC couldnt be trusted offleash near wildlife or livestock, his herding drive was just too strong and it made him unpredictable: sometimes he'd recall and sometimes he couldnt resist herding. My GSD recalls immediately first time every time no matter what and I can call her off halfway through a chase on livestock or a charge at a human she thinks is threatening me. This is why they use GSD for police work.

Do your research first. They aren't for everyone. If you dont train it correctly and use the training daily itll probably be very unhappy and so will you. They need more interaction and attention than most dogs. A lot of people get them because they hear they're smart not realizing the responsibility that comes with the added intelligence. And they end up giving perfectly good dogs to the shelter because THEY didnt know how to take care of it. They are not lapdogs. They are not "leave at home with nothing to do dogs" They need constant mental stimulation to be healthy.

If that's a border collie I am a monkey's uncle. it's a lab mix (pitbull) lol

@@anomaxic it IS mix, border collies are MUCH more fluffy, they have a lot of layers of fur, pitbull and collie mixes have less fur, making them look like more of a pit bull, border collies don't look like that, its simple. The owner should do research before claiming something false. If you think that's a border Collie then you don't know what your talking about. (Edit: I looked at the dog more and it looks like a mix of a different breed and a border Collie. Still a mix tho)
