I’m looking at a smooth brown leather Chelsea boot from Thursday boots. Is that more dressy than the President. Conflicted.

Something important is that the Thursday Logger is not exactly a work boot is the aproach of a workboot by Thursday, but its not made to be a work boot, it kinda looks like a work boot but its a dress boot, still one of my favorite boots on the market

Great video on basic boot info for someone just starting out with boots. I would have added one caveat. Although, full boots might not work with a suit. An ankle boot goes great with a suit. An Oxford or Oxford-brogue looks great and pairs well with business-wear. A plain Oxford or Oxford-balmoral is even better. Just so long as it is made in high quality leather without a lot of fluff and flair. And, the soles are stitched in either leather or thin composite. The difference between this and a chukka would be the more elegant silhouette of a dress ankle boot. My personal favorite look (that I do not have) is a traditional dress Jodhpur boot. This is more dressy and formal than the suede harness boots used in the example. Harness boots aren’t bad for casual wear. But, a real Jodhpur has more class.

Recently bought my 1st black leather jacket to wear with darker and black jeans. Debating between black or brown boots. Likely the president Thursday boot.

My favorite are magnanni boots where they stitch the sole up to the side. Looks so cool

Bought myself some Thursday Boots since we recently got snow in Texas. Now I am prepared for the weather season when it returns.

Boots are just cool period! I have several pairs and they are functional and look great. A dress pair of boots will also set you a part and normally I am 5'10" without shoes and with boots I am at least 5'11"...win!

I love those Chelsea boots. A much better alternative to the Timberlands which are more expensive.

I believe that cap toes, wing tips and chelsea boots are better and more functional... And easy to pair with any kind of outfits... But yeah those "jodhpur boots" looks like fun...

I just got into higher quality dress boots. My gateway boot was the Thursday captains. I wanted a black pair and a brown pair so I went with the Classic black captain as my first boot and I went with the Arizona Adobe boot as my second boot. I also recently purchased the Elliott Balmoral boot from Beckett Simonon because they were on sale for $169 when the retail price is well over $400. The only downside is that they have a 3 month lead time. I hope they will fit me perfectly because I need it for my wife and I’s 10yr anniversary dinner and photographs.

I wish you would do a video on grant stone boots. They are a much better quality boot. I own 3 pairs of Thursdays, a pair of Beckett Simonon, and a pair of Grant Stone. My favorite boot is the Grant Stone Ottawa’s. They look like the Alden Tankers. I think that the Ottawa’s are on the same level as Alden and it’s surprisingly better than Allen Edmonds. I have 2 pairs of Captains; a pair of Black Classics and a pair of Arizona Adobe and then a pair of Loggers in cacao. I use the Loggers for winter weather and more for chores. I love the Loggers but my favorite is still the Ottawa’s.

Chukka have been worn with suits. Clearly they have that military heritage. Even today British army wear them with service uniforms though more casual. Clark Gable in world war 2 was photographed wearing a leather pair presumably in brown next to Jimmy Stewart both in then Army service dress. They were favored by the Mods of the 60s so probably can get away with a more fashion forward casual suit, think more tailored cut more than 2 button. For a business suit, want a darker color and more polished leather though a tan Suede is the classic for a very casual suit, probably a leather sole not the crepe type. Since Antonio was talking Thursday boots their Scout classic in a brown or black might be formal enough for a business suit.

Antonio thank you so much for this video. Really well done and good info. I would like your thoughts on a Thursday Cadet type boot without the cap toe? A lot of these styles you showed look amazing but my favorite will always be a Redwing 6" Moc Toe Supersole 1.0 style as a workboot. My Granddad always wore these and bought me a pair about the age of 14...so it's for sentimental reasons. I'm lucky to still have that pair.

He didn't mention it because Thursday Boots doesn't make balmoral boots. This is an advertisement. Nothing more. I don't know if Thursday Boots are any good, but this vid - and others like it - make me want to avoid Thursday Boots. I strongly suspect that they are cheaper than other boots because they aren't as good as other boots.
