And it's getting better each day. I've downloaded your code. Took me some cut&paste time, but now my speakers and the mini media player are smarter than ever, thanks again for your work. At the end the script wasn't that difficult, but I had trouble combine it all together in one yaml code. Missed the raw configuration method and was trying to put it all together in the card code...

Your videos are very helpful for this media player! I am howver trying to use these methods of calling spotcast service to play on a group of home mini speakers, but service does not call. Any suggestions for this? Is there a way to play on all speakers with this method?

Great implementation idea along with your usual easy to understand instructions! Works great with my Amazon Echo devices around the house.

Thx for the great tutorial! Keep up the good work. Just a quick tip... In the code editor you can press ctrl+f to replace multiple lines of code at once instead of manually adjusting all your entities one by one.

Great Video. In case you only want to use one card for managing all the media players, you could use the state-switch card from Thomas Loven in HACS too. But this works as well and only uses native components.

Excellent tutorial! I've been looking for a way to consolidate the lights as well as my multiple smart speakers in the house for a clean mobile dashboard - used this "trickery" with a mushroom chips card for both and works perfectly! Coupled with your tutorial on the kiosk mode... very clean. Thanks so much!

Thank you for another great video. Tip: if you place the media-cards and conditional card in a vertical stack you make sure the speaker-selector and media card are always together.

Great solution. I use now a tab card or a swipe card for my mediaplayers. But this is a better solution. Thanks for the inspiration.

I would prefer a tabbed card because it saves one click compared to a dropdown. 😊

Hello, can I run the usb speakers that I use with vlc-player for tts messages with this method?

I have diferent media_players, from ikea symfonisk, google nest, tv even a xiaomi gateway that has a small speaker. I want to do an automation that when I arrive home it start's to play in all the speaker an spotify playlist. Is possible to combine diferent media players in one?

is there anything chepaer than audiocast m5 to convert my existing speakers to wifi speakers. i dont go to raspaudio because i dont want to spend dollars more than what my existing speaker are worth. I wish things were cheaper as the bluetooth adapter to the exiting speakers which is just couple of dollars and easy to install as well

Yes sure, create a speaker group in Google Home and assign that speaker group.

According to the comments below the media player video for Spotify, it works on Echo devices.

can you create a Alexa skill using google sheet. like if we ask Alexa tell me the employees list with there details.

How can you make your existing dumb speakers smart, like tv have roku or Google stick makes TV smart.

Hi Ed, great video! I use Alexa Echo speakers throughout my house. Is there a way to select "everywhere" so that the music streams on all the echo devices at the same time? I can do this in the Alexa app by telling it to "play on everywhere", but have not been able to figure it out in HA.

Hi Robert, you can create a group of speakers in home assistant in helpers.It's in helpers, new helper, group and group of media players and add all the player than you want. Per example call 'house speakers' and create the group and sound all at the same time.

Hi Ed, i just want to thank you for your amazing work and very good documented vidz. I really love your chanel! I 've also bought the downloadable files and implemented them in my own dashboard and adapted it to my wishes. Still, i have a question. Do you know what could be the reason why i can play spotify playlist on my google nest, but when trying to play to my google mini, i keep getting error: kan service spotcast/start niet aanroepen: could not find device with name XXX. I"ve tried it with friendly name, and also did it with entity_id but keep getting this error... so when in dropdown menu i choose the google nest, everything works fine, and when choosing google mini in dropdown, i keep getting this errors.. while radio stations still keep working on all devices and speaker groups.

Hey Kevin, thank you for your support! Can you try the name that your Google mini has in your Google Home app? I believe that's the name that you need to use. I have this running on my Google Mini without any problems, so it should be able to get it to work.

Woow thank you very much Ed now it is working!! Even creating multiroom group in google home and then playing the playlist from spotify now works, and before it was impossible with the HA speaker group. With multiroom it seems impossible to display the artwork from spotify, but for all the other situations its working so i am happy! The artwork is just a detail i have to figure out. Thank you very much! Have just bought you another 5 coffees to thank u ;)

I must say that I've seen this error a couple of days back as well, but it's no longer there. Not sure why, but it might have been an issue in the Spotify connection.

yes, same issue. It works when I call it using the service, but I see your same message when I click the button on the dashbord.

@@vincenzobrogna7637 The issue was solved after the latest update of Spotcast, but it's back since today. Hopefully it's a temporary hickup.

I don't think you explained how to better maintain the scripts. Right now my issue is that I have to create 1 script per device per radio station. Meaning I've got 3 scripts for the same radio station with different speakers in them. How do you prevent that?

I use Zigbee2MQTT for quite a while now. Not entirely happy, but it works.

i would change volume for each speaker...

The code on Ko-Fi contains the solution, but scripts still work.
