I'm an IT Technician. I personally don't care if any of my users know or try this. But telling them "not to share with your technician" is pointless and just stupid. Most of the time we want to know what the users did to try to resolve it as it may change our plan of action on how to fix it for good. For instance, if a user runs MRT because they caught malware, we know it probably won't resolve the issue so we know to skip to a second-opinion scanner or reimaging. Or if a user is running out of disk space and deletes the contents of their user temp folder, we know to skip to system wide temp files or browser cache. I'm sick of these "cool gamer bros" acting like we're only out to get people in trouble. In many organizations that is not true, our job is to fix issues. Also a technician here, never used MRT since Defender is part of Windows, it's unneeded .Temp Files is common knowledge, Users probably shouldn't be messing with the startup apps and usually don't have rights to anyway, same thing for the other commands, no admin rights so they can't do it. This is only basic OS maintenance for a home computer. Still, wish most users had enough computer knowledge to clean up their own files, or least restart the darn thing correctly.

@ctrl_x1770 In a company where the software is monitored and controlled, turning off certain startup programs can cause security/networking processes to stop working. For example, my place uses Aruba ClearPass to 'elevate' the subnet of IP addresses based on a user's Active Directory group, if the program doesn't run, the user won't be able to connect to the Wi-Fi.

As desktop support, I strongly disagree with your take. First of all, someone who doesn't know what they're doing could disable the wrong startup items and most likely didn't take notes. 2nd of all, users need to understand that running an admin prompt needs to be handled with responsibility. They could delete critical files if they're not careful.

It's funny how he starts the video with *"don't share this info with technicians"* implying it's something they don't know since they were 10 year olds. Also majority of those tips won't make the PC any faster because the source of the problems comes from other user mistakes such as running windows 10/11 64bits on 2GB RAM, thousands of useless software initializing with the system, Windows not running on SSD, etc. The tips shown in the video will just make the user feel like he is some sort of genius but in 1 week he will realize nothing improved and he will still need help. *No amount of tips will make old and slow hardware to have good performance running modern/heavy programs, that's just reality, don't always go for the cheapest PC.*

You can open Admin CMD using RUN too. Just follow these steps 1) Window key + R 2) type CMD 3) Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter
@MrAndroid2013

Even faster .. Win+X then press A Also, the Run dialog doesn't automatically invoke "RunAs Administrator". Run + CMD is ran as the logged in user.
RMD is also a fun command. IF it still works, no idea.

Fun fact: I know all these when i was like 12y.o
Bruh, MRT literally says that it is not an antivirus software that you should rely on and you should get one.
Y además, MRT no elimina todas las infecciones, lo siento.
Also make sure to always use the solid-state drive since this won’t really make any difference on a hard drive.
So in short: 1)Windows+R then MRT 2)Windows+R then %temp% 3)Ctrl+Shift+Esc then look at Startup apps 4)Look for CMD and run it in admin mode and then sfc /scannow.
If your IT is worth a darn, you won’t be able to run these. Also, don’t do this at home, because we won’t help you on your personal device when you break your applications.
Yeah… you don’t have access to any of that when I’m there. Put in a ticket.

Deleting the folders and files in %temp% can be harmful since these temporary files used to hold datas in program execution, instead better to use built-in clean up tools like 'Disk clean up' on windows
Please don't tell us because we've already known about this for years
Win + R: cmd CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to run as administrator... ez
Another great speed improvement is adjusting the Swap from "system managed" to manual and put the minimum at 50Mb and the Maximum to your RAM capacity.. Esp if you still use a spinning rust drive.
If you have an IT department, you probably don't have privileges to do this stuff. And the malware scanning won't find all the IT-installed stuff that is actually slowing down your computer.
The real speed boost is disabling "core isolation" and "real time scan"
Delenting the temp files is a nightmare, not recommended it will make your computer slower until it makes temp files again.
I dont think a technician really give a f if you tell them that stuff.
Why would I want you to know this ? Less tickets.

Also remove superfetch and prefetch. Way to fast for you to work on it.
