The speaker won't have more power if the amp can't provide it at the same resistance. If they are the same impedance then the speakers will have the same power flowing through it with the amp of the partybox and perform very similar. And also as the impedance of a speaker goes up, the power that flows through it goes down.

Yes. And it's important don't forget the sensibility of the subwoofer.. Cause if you put a more sensitivity subwoofer, you may have more SPL. For example: Let's suppose the JBL Partybox 1000 subwoofer has a 87dB subwoofer. If you change the subwoofer for one that has 90dB, you will have way more SPL, as if you had doubled the power. Not everything is about power, but is specially about drivers too.

is it because of the motor size ( magnet and coil size like a bigger magnet with a bigger coil?) i heard and researched that bigger magnets and bigger coils outputs more volume and more cone flexibility and a bigger or double or triple surrounding cone? Like, 10 inch sub or 12 inch sub had a 5 inch size magnet wide and a 2 or 3 inch wide size coil, and another same size sub but with a like 5 inch or 4 inch or 6 inch size magnet/coil of same sub size, it can be louder because of a bigger coil and bigger magnet sizes? If you want the louder subwoofer. The sensitivity and the impedance of subwoofer is is more important than Watts if you want the new one for replaced.

I think there’s two things at play here. The first is the amp cannot push the better sub enough therefore you’re seeing less db. The second thing is the volume in the subwoofer enclosure looks quite small. What is the better subs recommended volume? It will sound terrible in too small an enclosure. And lastly subs are designed to either perform better in ported or sealed enclosures.

If you get a speaker thats more sensitive it will be louder at the same wattage, the amp produces the wattage, its rated at a specific impedance, lowering the impedance usually increases the wattage depending on the type of amp it can be stable at 16 ohm or some with modification can go as low as 0.25ohm,

I like that it gives more at low frequencies. But the volume for a party speaker ismore important for me ❤

Wire it to 1omhs if you want louder bass. But make sure to check the amp.

I am going to assume that both speakers are actually rated at 4ohm. One thing you need to take into account is that the parameters of the enclosure are designed to match the capabilities of the woofer that is factory installed. This includes box rise, which I am surprised no one has mentioned. Your impedance is going to change once the woofer is installed into an enclosure and depending on the enclosure the box rise may end up being different for what are, fundamentally different sub woofers. This test proves nothing unless you can clamp the speakers and compare the power output of the amplifier and its efficiency when powering each woofer in the enclosure.

Фигня получится. Для динамика что вы предлагаете, будет маленький объем. И эстрадный саб с высокой резонансной частотой, на будет басить в этой конструкции. + 8 Ом сопротивление - минус к мощности,и которой там и так мало. 1000вт нет в помине. Ват 300 максимум

The sub can take 1000 that dosent mean that the amp in the jbl can do it also the db was exactly the same 😂 the amp in the jbl was already maxed out with the original sub and if it’s a 1000w sub if it’s dual voice coil each coil takes 500w the jbl sub that was in there was single coil only so there was not benefit Unless you put your own amp in like a small sound digital mono block amp that’s for cars so I don’t know how you would power it the only option is a converter it costs around 200$ and you have to cut a hole in the box for the wires which can cause an air leak ruining the performance and it would not be as portable so this video was pointless 😂. See I’m 14 and I know more than you 😂

You should put a more sensitivity subwoofer to avail the proper JBL PB1000 amplifier. For example: if JBL original subwoofer has 87dB of sensitivity, you should put a 90dB subwoofer and preferably a sub with same power handling or even less, because it will sound like had doubled the power. If yoy put a 93dB subwoofer with same or less power than the original, it may sound like you had tripled the power, and it will have much more SPL. The sub of the video needs a lot of power to play well, like a amplifier with 4 times more power than 300W RMS.

It's not the driver that produce the power, it's the amplifier inside. Even if you change the driver, it's still the same power. Also, you can't measure the impedance of a driver with it laying face down. It need to be laying on the magnet.

If the woofer has conection for 4 ohms it should have been wiredin that manner so it can use both of the internal doubled coil connections to make the best low frequency and maybe it would have performed better and the amp may not heat up to move such a powerful sub...thats my opinion guys..👍😁 if im wrong, let me know...👍

Ok this man has power handling capacity to power output of an amplifier you won't get anymore power output for a sub without a bigger amp it's not like dual voice coil subs where u can lower the impendence of the amplifier to output more power, it's also not good to run car audio in home stereo set up

If original woofer have 3.7 ohm and you put an 5 ohm woofer will have lower power then 3.7 one

@@lupuradu Put the terminals of your multimeter on the woofer's terminals when it's staying still and measure it. Do the same thing while moving the cone up and down repeatedly and you will get different measurements each time you push/pull it. GPT explanation: When you push the cone of a subwoofer up and down, you're changing the air pressure inside the enclosure, which affects the resistance against the cone's movement.
