I mean it is a positive lightning bolt, which usually come from the top of the anvil and often have explosive sounding thunder which can set of car alarms, even at a distance. Such lightning appears as one very bright flash instead of many smaller flickering flashes.

It's good fun! I have only encountered one +CG strike. During thundersnow actually!
