Honestly I prefer the story of season 2 over the book. It was very similar to the story of season 1 like having chemistry, being caught in a compromisable position, getting married, intimate scenes, then after some conflict they fall in love. It was basically interchangeable so the forbidden love route the writers took was basically genius. Plus props to the entire team the camera work in intimate scenes how they sway the camera slightly making it seem like they are dizzy in love. I've already watched it too many times to count and I'm hooked and hungry for more.

Thank you! This is exactly how I felt! I just read book 2 and it basically reminded me of season 1. They made the chemistry and feelings much more prominent.

All the dumb subplots (Featheringtons, Will and his club) and reliance on giving screentime to last season fan favorites like the Queen and Lady D really was a disservice to our main couple. I far prefer this season to the book. I don’t have any emotional connection to the books and I don’t like/romance in general (too dialogue heavy for me, usually feel very…amateur?) but I had high expectations considering how the book fans talked about it and Kanthony in the book. Buut…every part that the book people loved in the book I preferred in the series - the book pall mall scene was very underwhelming to me? I didn’t get why it was seen as iconic. I dunno, kinda felt like I was missing something with how much I didn’t care for the book. It read like Wattpad fanfiction, had some cute/charming dialogue but the show had that and much much more in my opinion. I LOVE Kanthony in the show, i I like them in the book but overall did not like the books. I think dialogue heavy books almost always do better on screen because the actors/tv writers fill in the gaps with little moments that the books lack.

I just finished the book. The tv show is wayyyy better than the book. Other than the setting being the same in a few scenes and a couple basic details, they aren't very similar. Take away the bee part, it could have been it's own book/show. At the end of the day, the mood is still very proper and too conservative, compared to the vibe of the show. The sex scenes in the book is more like what season 1 couple went through, but season 2 couple's chemistry was a thousand times better. Most of the episodes was like a long foreplay, where both showed their emotions way ahead of time. And just an FYI: When they recorded season 1, there was no guarantee of additional seasons, so their focus was mainly on the main characters... now they know the show is a hit, and will have a full 8 seasons plus some spinoffs, they have to set up the future seasons, which means screen time for people you all don't care about. More than likely, they will have big roles to play to future seasons' plots.. They didn't set up certain things in season 1, which is why some parts of season 1 is detached from season 2. They realized they wanted to go in a different direction, with more details.

Once Anthony accidentally comprised Kate and then proposed marriage, Edwina was ecstatic because she could marry the guy she actually loved but wasn’t wealthy. Ya I kinda have to agree. I started reading the book after watching the second season twice in one weekend. I'm enjoying it enough for what it is, but so far it just doesn't compare to the series for me. I didn't go into it expecting anything award worthy just light and fluffy and kinda nonsensical but still nothing could have prepared me. I'm only about 50% of the way through the book, but honestly a lot of the scenes would have looked completely ridiculous on screen like the events leading up to their first kiss in the book where Kate is hiding under Anthony's desk in his office and then starts biting and/or digging her nails into his leg. I was just like wtf am I reading?! And I haven't gotten to it yet, but I've heard what happens in the bee sting scene in the book where Anthony sucks out the venom from the bee sting from her breast... I don't even have the words. Also, Anthony is not at all charming in the books, he's just a creep and an asshole. Like I really don't like his character in the book, his behavior is very problematic and a lot of the things he says just makes me uncomfortable. Thank god they changed certain aspects of the characters personality in the series to actually make him someone you can root for and like. I'm kind of surprised so many people prefer the book but maybe that's just because they fell in love with the characters and storylines while reading the book first, before the season came out while I watched the season first and fell in love with the characters and storylines there before reading the book.

@@blankxblankx8516 I mean the whole Sharma thing. Kate and Edwina were English women. Mary married a Sheffield and was not born one. Kate is a Sheffield and so is Edwina. This whole dowry drama was unnecessary and showing Indians as poor was not needed. It is quite humiliating as an Indian to see my culture being misrepresented. Sharma’s are North Indian and not South Indian to begin with. And parents are not addressed as Amma and Appa in the north. It’s in the South basically. If Edwina was to have a church ceremony then y bother with semi Indian rituals as haldi? They brought in unnecessary melodrama in the series by making the society mock the Bridgertons when nothing of the sort happened in the books. Anthony never proposed to Edwina let alone get to the altar with her. Edwina was more than happy when Antony and Kate were set to get married. There was no sulking business. And again presenting Edwina as a pleasing character - making her grin like an idiot all the time made me wonder what the queen saw in her to proclaim her as the diamond. This season ought to have been the best given it’s probably the best in the book universe but overall it was a letdown. Again my opinion. I don’t intend to offend anyone who feels otherwise.

Season 2 still can't compete with Season 1, Season 1 love story and the Simon Character was waaaaaaaay better than the Anthony character, many of the characters in season 1 was better, season 2 was boring and they tried to much to follow season 1 love chemistry and it Fail, season 2 fail for me as a male viewer who hate period drama, but liked Season 1, The Simon SUAVE cool character made me finish season 1, season 2 lost 75% of the male viewers, i could not finish i kept fast fowarding to see if it will get any better for me because i and most of my friends really don't like the Anthony character he is to typical of the period drama male actor men find boring and dislike, Simon was not the typical period drama male character thats why many especially us men who don't watch that period drama shit liked and could finish season 1, even the songs selections were waaaaaaaay better in season 1.

I'm woman, but I do agree with you. I think Simon was a much interesting character because of the character itself and because Regé is a great actor. Besides, he is handsome, sexy and has CHARISMA, something that can't be explained or performed!!! Anthony will not do. I agree with the soundtrack too.

I liked season 2 much more. Season 1 was a bit boring and the romance kinda robotic

Please say in YOUR opinion because a lot of people happen to disagree with you 🥴🤨there’s nothing more annoying than someone phrasing things like they speak for everyone in the world
