sometimes a predictable, cliche book is what we need🤷🏻‍♀️they’re comforting af. angsty books can be too much sometimes, so i love a bit of predictability and fluff.

I’m pretty sure My Policeman is about Harry’s character being gay and a woman & a man fall in love with him, but it’s the 50s… so you know how that goes 😭 I have the book too & plan on reading it!

Some Classics to read: Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Hurston, The Yellow Wallpaper by Gilman, The Bell Jar by Plath, The Bluest Eye by Morrison, Heart of Darkness by Conrad, Frankenstein by Shelley, Moll Flaunders by Defoe, A Room of Ones Own by Virginia Woolf, To Kill A Mockingbird.

I'm totally on a classics train rn too😂 Completely different from what I normally read but I'm really enjoying them, especially since I'm not being forced to read them like in school. Love Animal Farm and rereading Jane Austen I'm blown away by how funny and modern her characters are - definitely recommend😊

A Little Life is slightly traumatizing to read. I loved it, but just wanted to let you know there's LOTS of trigger warnings. I didn't emotionally recover for at least a month. I do hope you enjoy it as well

You need to read Kennedy Ryan's books. The best I've read this year. HIGHLY recommend Long Shot and All the King's Men series

@@unissuedg2264 it’s more so from everyone else’s books that make me dislike her. in her own she’s not bad at all. but with all the other books, she’s still such a huge part of them, trying to be the centre of attention and everything revolving around her and it kinda bugs me😭 i want to read about the main couple of that book, not how it affects Erika or however she’s involved, you know? like things always tie back to her and it annoys tf out of me lol.

@@ellie5560 ya i get what you mean, but i’ve noticed that in most series, the first couple in a book series always ends up having more scenes in the other books, i guess because they’re the characters that started it all!

@@unissuedg2264 yes that is so true!! sometimes i love it, sometimes i loathe it😭 it’s definitely a pattern but I understand why authors do it, like you said. and i imagine the first couple are quite special to the author too since it was their first book in the series they wrote- a series that ends up super popular.
