@@nin_tendo6458 I don’t even watch professional wrestling and he’s held in such high regard by the fans that even I know he’s considered one of the best of all time. The issue people have with calling someone overrated is 1) It’s become so overused it’s like calling someone a racist. Everyone immediately dismisses what you have to say because we know you’re just throwing around buzzwords. 2) It dismisses how beloved the man is by acting like he’s this esoteric great that no one knows about.

@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 Exactly! All these people using the term underrated think they are doing these wrestlers a favor, when in fact it's incredibly insulting to them -- it's like they say "only I know how great he is, nobody else do". Literally everyone is called underrated on KZread, it's such a weird habit, I really don't get it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Booker T is certainly accomplished, and I still think is grossly underrated and under appreciated. Dude was incredibly charismatic, could work with anyone, any size, any time length. Legitimately a tough guy behind the scenes and got the green light to go over for his 6th world title by handling a misunderstanding between him and Batista in shoot format. Snug, fast-paced in ring ability with a unique move set. Always humble from his time in jail/prison, and made every effort to successfully beat the odds of a life within the justice system. Frankly, it was disgusting how heavily WWE buried him after coming over from WCW. Nothing is worse than the Triple H storyline that ended at WrestleMania 19 with him putting HHH over after taking 1 pedigree, HHH sandbags for literally 18 seconds before covering Booker for a clean 3-count when HHH was a heel.

Achieved all he did but Booker T is still very under-awarded and underrated imo. That's how good he actually was. He may have become a solo star a bit too late, or the fall of WCW cut his dominance too short, or McMahon didn't see how good Booker actually was until a bit too late. Who knows? He still achieved greatness, and is humbly greatfull to himself, his employers and the industry itself, but it should've, and could've very easily given his skills and work rate, been a lot more.

Cool hearing his perspective on this. The first one was awesome and so well deserved and a crazy ending to a controversial night. Bash at the Beach 1996 and Bash at the Beach 2000 go down in history for me. The 2006 vs Rey will always feel lesser to me because they had him a heel who needed to cheat and it was AFTER playing him out of winning the WWE Title as a face vs Triple H which was obviously the more heralded title during that era. He did great with it as King Booker but I saw it as a consolation prize after they dang near immediately took the WCW title from him and took 3 yrs between Mania 03 and SummerSlam 06 to put a top title back on him. 🤷🏽‍♂️. I like the one vs Scott Steiner on the last Nitro too even though obviously it was really just so he could enter WWE with the title since Steiner was gonna wait out his Turner contract.
