“Books are getting darker and darker” YUP

I live in the US and Barnes & Noble is the only option close to me for books. I agree!!! It is very difficult to find books and the Christian section is pretty small. I like to go and have coffee and browse sometimes but Amazon is usually where I have to shop. Wish we had some good used bookstores as well!

As a 14 year old Christian, it is so frustrating trying to find good books now a days. It just makes me want to cry. I would love recommendation video on good YA books 😁❤️

I agree so much! I am a 16 year old Christian and it is a struggle to find good clean books nowadays. What has helped me a lot has been reading Christian fiction that honor God but have great stories as well! I hope she also puts out a video on YA books soon😁💕

Oceana, I would stay away from Target if u can..I banned Target along time ago when Target said they were removing the man and women signs in depts to be more open to let anyone shop for what they wanted to wear..and it’s gotten DARKER AND DARKER FROM THERE. It was so fun to enjoy some of the Hawaii sights with you and your sisters! Wanted to thank you that you have been such an encouragement to start reading books again…thank you! I recommend 2nd & Charles and Books A Million for Christian books! They have a good collection at my bookstores

I wish there was a Half Price Books closer to you, they have even cheaper books - all second hand but i have found books $5 $7 and even $3 for some classics. And agree to books getting darker and darker...

So, a fun fact about me is that I am actually blind. So even though I couldn’t see what you were doing in the video, I listened to the whole thing because of the fun music!! 😂 I’m hoping to start my own KZread channel in the near future, and I imagine sometimes editing and choosing music can be the hardest part! You always do a great job!

I read the summer of broken rules and it’s confusing because it’s like it’s closed door but it’s not. basically they did imply that they did it several times and kissed a lot. i had to skip over some of it because i was a little uncomfortable but you might not be. im only 15 so 😅 but since you love the cheat sheet you might like it im not sure 😭

Oh my goodness the books being dark!!!! Yes that is the PERFECT way to describe what the authors of today are writing. It is challenging because as a mom of a 13 year old, I have to monitor and look up what she wants to read before she reads it :( makes me so sad, but we have to protect our hearts and our minds

I feel like the chain bookstores like Barnes and Noble are very dark and very non religious! I live in Texas and we have a chain bookstore called, “Books-A-Million” and it’s the same! 🤦‍♀️

Yes, here in the states Barnes and noble is the same. I specifically live in nyc and hadn’t been to B&N since I was a kid and I was disappointed that I couldn’t have a lot of options that are my taste. And in nyc there no primarily Christian bookstore.

But I agree! Books are getting darker and darker in general!

I had to pause the video between when you said you went into B&N and when you came out. Right after you said, "we don't have these in Canada" I thought about how you weren't missing much because of how insanely secular it is. So then when I started the video again and that was your first take away, I was nodding my head with you. I wish bookstores were much more of a neutral space. I have 3 boys between 10 and 5. We have to be careful when we go into bookstores 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not just the books but the music and tv shows are getting darker too 😭

Yeah Barnes is not my fav. 😭So dark the books on display. We have a books a million here that is similar but has a good Christian section still for now.

It is really sad 😔 about the books. I’m not sure why most things are dark , have unnecessary language etc… not all of us want that. I’m happy you had a wonderful vacation. Have a blessed week.

Yeah the target books are so bad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 the young girls also gravitate right there to it especially in target

I’d try out Better Than The Movies but it’s pretty heavy on language. The Summer of Broken Rules is technically closed door but it mentions some things I wasn’t comfortable with and they talk about doing it A LOT.
