In the book Percy secretly went on the quest to try and save his mother, but it was all in his internal monologue, so they had to find a way to say that out loud.

Think it's time for a reread. He was sent on the quest. He wanted to sneak out if I remember correctly. But for the good of everyone he was given the quest and saw the oracle. Pretty sure it's the third book he sneaks out.

@@DemonicSkaith You misunderstood me, he got given the quest and went to the oracle etc, but he only actually wanted to go to try and save his mother. That was his secret reason for wanting to go on the quest. I wasn't saying that he "secretly went on the quest", I was saying that he "secretly went on the quest to try and save his mother".

Many reactors didn't realize the scene when Nancy in the fountain. If you focus at the water of the fountain you can see how the water pulled Nancy just like in the book

When I first saw Mr. D, I started laughing hysterically, because I only know the actor as Adrian Pimento in B99 and that somehow still fits together so well, I just found it hilarious 😂😂

I'm Old, 50 this year, so I had never read the books then Covid Happened and was looking for an audiobook listen to... I had liked the movie ok since i had never read the books at that point. I had been a fan of Greek Mythology all my life and gave the first book a try.. loved it and have read/listened to everything up til The Chalice of the Gods as of typing this. I only got thru book 4 of Harry Potter.

I just finished book 5 of Percy Jackson and I loved them all (I began reading book 1 on January 1st). I I haven't read the other books yet but I'm planning on doing so very soon. I didn't want to begin reading the saga because there are a lot of books but I'm happy I changed my mind and I have the series to thank for that. About Harry Potter, it's too bad you weren't able to read all the books. Book 4 is my favorite of the seven but the last three are excellent. But I guess it's not everyone's taste.

You know you watched a good show or movie when you watch the entire thing and it feels like no time has passed but really it’s been over 20min

This show is such a good adaptation. Although there have been changes, the changes make sense and complement the book. 12 year old me never thought I’d be able to relive my childhood through a PJO show after the disappointment of the movie that shall not be named. 😭🤍

Glad I'm not the only book reader who went into this series with an open mind!!!!!!! LOTS of other reactioners I follow went into this series with a VERY bad mentality!!!!!!!! They'd already decided it was going to be terrible just because Annabeth's actress is African American!!!!!😠😠😠😠😠😠 WELL my problem with Annabeth in the movies is because she doesn't act ANYTHING like Annabeth!!!!!!!!! NOT that she was a brunette not a blonde!!!!! Rick PICKED the cast with his wife and I assumed he must know something we don't yet and that I should just watch and see and then I can judge if I like the actress as Annabeth or not!!!! I think Rick did an AMAZING job with the cast and the show is AMAZING to me!!!!!! I'm glad you're having fun, too!!! And I agree with you that it's more important they get the heart of the story right then every specific detail!!!! I personally am liking the changes so far!!!!! They've been minor things they added and took away, like the fact that there's supposed to be a hellhound there sent by Luke in the woods during Capture the Flag. Or, there was supposed to be the three fates at a bus stop, I think that's where they are at least, or the Furies wielded whips in the book and I think the scene was on the bus itself in the books. BUTTT I'm totally fine with those minor details being taken out of the show!!! Like I mentioned earlier I agree with you that the fact that they got the heart of PJ right is the main takeaway!!!!!!
