Boohbah Intro Original
Ойын-сауық
I first seen this show on the PBS HD channel. The first time I seen it, it kind of freaked me out more so than teletubbies. Yes this show was film is HD so this none HD video does not have the same effect. There are some modifed versons out there so I though I would post the original. Im trying to imagin how a child would perceive this show?

@Dingbobber so for one, the pace of each scene: modern toddler entertainment like cocomelon have short paced change of scenes, which can mess up with a child's attention span. This show takes it's time between each scene/background/character transition. The background music isn't overwhelming and calming but at the same time the right amount of stimulating(and to me, as an adult, it's really soothing idk why 😅) The visuals aren't all over the place, the characters that need to pop for the scene are bright colored to keep the child's attention on what's happening, without an overstimulating colorful background.
I'm low-key furious at my mum for allowing me to watch this.

Was this show created by aliens or something? It''s so weird that i'm impressed as a grown adult now. When I was like 10 me and my friend recorded these into a DVD using his computer and would replay and laugh for hours. Boobah is SO weird. Sometimes we'd put on a movie at the same time the episode started, and every single Boobah sound would match up with the movie we had on. I was a weird kid. But I will never forget crying of laughter with my friend at their little "PFFFT!" sounds and all the other weirdness of this show. Tell me about it. I just looked at the opening today and I was kind of creeped out and terrified after seeing it again as an adult at the age of 18, I was asking myself “What was I watching when I was a kid?” Whenever I think of a childhood show that I could look back on and have a warm nostalgic feeling towards, I would go for the power rangers, the ninja turtles, the teen Titans, and even Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I saw boohbah as a kid in the year 2004-2006 on PBS kid’s at the age of 2-4 and back then I loved it, but now as an adult this show is looking like a weird fever dream.

I'm now in my honours year at music school studying classical piano and composition, and having learned about writing music for film and television as part of my degree, I keep coming back to shows I watched as a kid like Boohbah, Teletubbies etc. and what's behind these shows is some extraordinary music. I actually wrote one of my dissertations on music in television on the intros and the incidental music to children's shows including Play School (the intro from 2000-2011 that I grew up with), Boohbah, Shawn the Sheep among others, analysing the music deeply and how it adds to the ambience and feel of the shows and I to this day find it a fascinating subject.

When I was a kid this literally tripped me out. I just started at the TV like my eyes melted out of my head during this show. When I got older I tried describing this show to people and no one would believe me that it was a real show. For at least 2 years I was leaning towards the idea that I just legitimately tripped balls as a kid on sugar or something. But I couldn’t help but feel like this had to be a real show. Eventually I just found a list of all shows aired on PBS (where I remember watching it) and after years of searching I found this... I am so happy but so disturbed...

Yes, I am also into aliens. In fact I ONCE SAW A REAL ALIEN IN REAL LIFE FOR REAL. IT WAS IN MY BACKYARD AND IT TOLD ME "YOU NEED TO RUN! NOOOOWWWWW!!" and then I ran
Even as a kid I found Boohbahs weird as hell but I couldn't stop watching bc of the colors and how they move was hilarious to me

This was actually a cult and no one can convince me otherwise. That chanting doesn't lie.
i remember stumbling on this a few times as a kid lmaooo. I thought this had been left in the 2000s where it belongs, not able to be exposed to anymore poor innocent children, until i saw my moms friends kid watching it on youtube recently... the terrible cycle continues. boobah will never truly go away
The moment I had seen the thumbnail I knew EXACTLY what it was, and then sat in shocked disbelief as I was sent right back to being a kid. I'm just as uncomfortable as before, if not more.
everyone in the comment like wow i must have been on drugs or wtf is this or satanic help me JESUS...and im over here like LOOK MY CHILDHOOD

When people say white people have no culture.
Some people wonder what's going on here. Some people wonder what drugs the creators were on. I just wonder where I can get some of those drugs.
is it just me or did I watch boohbah like everyday continuously when I was a kid

My mom let me watch this show when I was a kid I love this show so much it wasn't really creepy for me and my mom never complained about it.
My brother was OBSESSED with this! This is what a nightmare looks like!
There once was a television show. No creepy characters, no stupid premises, no bright colors, etc. Just a kind man in a cardigan sweater. "Won't you be my neighbor?"

I remember back around 2004-2005 when my state was badly hit by Hurricanes and we lost power for over a week. When we finally got power again, we only had one channel and this show was on. It creeped the fuck out of me then and still does to this day.

How the hell did this show get on television outside of UK? If I remember when I saw one episode it was really eccentric.
I will never forgive myself for actually liking this as a toddler!
I loved this show as a kid... probably because of the colors, but now I realize how terrifying this really is.

I know right.
This is the kind of video an evil organization in a movie would use to brain wash people. Like some one would be strapped to a high tech scary chair with their eyes forced open, then a menacing dude in sunglasses would turn on this video and leave the room, and we'd just hear horrific screams and camera zooms out from the closed door. Thats how horrific and uncofortable this video is.

Right next to Teletubbies, I barely remember watching this. I've been waiting for a long time to finally discover the title of this show and I got it at last. For YEARS, I wanted to go back to this show because of how I manged to remember it. I was just so curious. Now, I'm here, thinking this looks waaaaaaay stranger than Teletubbies. Lemme start to say, this show has a shit ton of sparkles and rainbows. And everything else is just... WEIRD. I can't even describe it- Teletubbies made more sense than this. This show is much more creepier too. Sometimes I wonder how my child mind works - When I was young, I remember loving this and being entertained by it. Now, I'm laughing my ass off and just going "What the fuck is this?" Over and over. I don't even remember humans being in this show, all I remember is those THINGS and them... EYES. How fluffy they looked, what weird dances they did and some noises, how chubby they looked and the EYES, never left my memory. Well, it's good to feel this... nostalgic again... XD I guess. I think I may regret wanting to see this again.

I thinks it's because at that age, our minds are entertained by the pretty colors and movements rather than watching the characters are doing. Once we get older and aren't concerned about that anymore, we can pay attention to what was actually going on and in turn be horrified by it.

same, all i remember is just a bunch of rainbow furry things floating around in clouds?? i dont even remember a storyline or anything, thats all i remember
this show was awesome when i was a kid. for those who dont know, it was created by the same company as teletubbies which should explain the general gaudiness. thank you UK for always concocting such funky and odd stuffs.
God I remember having the VHS for this How the years go by :,^)

What show are you talking about?
The weirdest part of this show is that I had no idea what was happening in it when I was a child, and I still don't now. It was just them effing around for 30 minutes. WHAT IS THIS?!
Someone out there must've seen Teletubbies and thought "this makes too much sense."
This is low-key terrifying
Reminds me of what went through my mind the first time I felt a girl's boobs.
