  • @NightZ2_

    @NightZ2_

    Жыл бұрын

    Kids need to learn how to evaluate these things, to know what brands, if any, are worth it. Brands are one of many things that infect a child when they interact with their peers. You need a solid education from home to shield a child from the post modern culture of insane consumption and moral debauchery.

  • @TheDictatorsKingdom

    @TheDictatorsKingdom

    Жыл бұрын

    @@NightZ2_ it's not even brand anymore, you've got kids being corrupted by trends on TikTok, KZread, and twitch and not understanding the true meaning or repercussions that can come from the choices they make. When I was growing up all I was taught was not to swear and other old ideals as my mother was a traditional Christian woman and didn't understand the way the world was heading, which led to me growing up around changes I didn't understand that my mother couldn't explain to me. I ended up following these trends and being introverted and weird during my early childhood. Parents need to understand and work to teach their kids right and wrong when it comes to the new internet era. I think it'd be smart to teach children that certain content is made simply to entice and distract, with no real substance. Knowledge is not something you stop gaining at the end of highschool or college; parents should always keep in touch with society, not only because it helps them understand why their kids are the way they are, but it also helps them pull their kids out of depressive ruts and asocial activity.

  • @Spartacus4000

    @Spartacus4000

    As with many things, knowledge goes a long way into making good decisions.. by showing a kid how clothes are made and comparing it how brand named clothes are made, you show them that the quality of the brand materials, due to modern standardized textile processes, is negligible.... this will only go so far when coupled with peer pressure so talking with your child about what to expect as they grow up (in great detail, talk about cliques, rumors, jealousy, love, greed, and envy) theyll be better equipt to identify the feeling they have inside and be less likely to confuse needs with wants.... a sense of value is critical to building a functional adult.. its imperative that a child knows how to save as well as earn by the sweat of there brow; this will help them later empathize with parent before asking for frivolous luxury items.

    I think one of the larger takeaways here, for other people looking in, is that weight loss doesn't cure mental illness. If you have issues with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, etc., those things aren't going to magically disappear or be cured simply because you lost weight and often they become much more prominent because the person no longer has their weight or food to self-medicate or shield themselves behind and comfort themselves with. I don't know if he was seeing a therapist at this time but if not, I hope he is seeing someone now and getting to a better mental place.

I felt this myself when I would grow my hair out or have it cut as a kid. shoulder length hair I was calmer and more relaxed, shorter hair I was more on edge with little things and I felt good about my appearance with either one. same with the quiet kids who go to the gym, or the gym rat who doesn't have time anymore. It could be an actual legitimate case where his weight made him the way he was and losing the weight made him the way he is.

I definitely wouldn't watch someone who bitched about their life and problems, especially when they created alot of those problems. "Fat angry man breaks stuff" was what made Boogie entertaining in the first place. That's certainly why I used to be subscribed to his channel. I enjoyed his characters & skits like Francis, Jesse, etc. Asmon nails it that if he had just been himself all along instead of putting on his "nice guy" persona for years, and if he had kept up on making his entertainment/comedy videos, he would probably still be somewhat respected. The mental breakdowns on Twitch didn't do him any favors either.

    I think another part of it is that channels that post too many depressing things means that majority of people will stop clicking on those vids over time. There's only so many times you can click and watch an upsetting vid before it takes a toll on your mental state too. People come here to be entertained and upsetting videos push those kinds of people away and bring in negative types of people instead. Sometimes a creator posts a video that's titled with a serious topic and I will not click it unless I'm ready to. I may never watch it tbh. I got online to watch some people goof around and so the vid will bring down my mood, so I just ignore it and watch it later.

    I was getting into this bad habit of buying a new game every week or so, from Steam, and never finishing the ones I'd bought before. Finally, I had to put my foot down and declare that I was not allowed to buy any game until I finished, either the last one I bought or one of the other games I'd yet to finish. This curbed my spending habits a great deal. It also helps, when I see a new game, to ask myself "do I have an unfinished game, in this same genre, I could be playing instead?"; usually, the answer is "Yes" and I can put this new game on the back-burner until it's on deep sale.

I went into the arcade adjacent to the pool room to play some racing arcade game (test drive or some shit), looked out the pool room window onto the terrace and saw him and his wife swinging light sabers around at their starwars themed wedding. If he spent half as much of the effort he spent complaining the last few years on improving his content to try to improve his situation he’d probably be in a better spot, however, people get tired of creators after a time, especially ones who frequently upload similar content. Like, people were bound to get tired of him eventually because he never really innovated on his formula. If he doesn’t find it fun anymore, that sucks, but you kinda have to move on if you cant afford not to… and he hasn’t been able to afford to for awhile now. Dude needs to get an actual job, or sell the skills he’s cultivated by being a social media personality like editing or whatever, or even selling his character to other people in terms of like hey do you have an idea for me or my character? Pay me for my time and I’ll participate in content I think may be good. There’s a hundred other things he could do, including just a regular job like 99% of people.
