In the same way that Israel was "created" in 1948, why not "create" a new place for the Palestinians to live? The desert can be nice; for examples, think Palm Springs, California, or Israel. So find some heckhole in a fairly unoccupied desert, and--voila!--new home for the Palestinians. Have their new home be at least a thousand miles away from the Middle East, that way there's no temptation to wander back. Sounds great, right? Well, there would be some unhappy people if this happened: those who get their toilets cleaned cheap by the goyum. That's right: Israelis do not want to loose their super low-paid helpers.

Legitimately, what a great set of interviews. Tim's interview style is great: nonconfrontational but quick to clarify or play devil's advocate when Abby or Noa were being disingenuous or vague. He really drilled down to the strong points of each side and made sure his guests were forced to directly address the weak points, all in a straightforward and easy to listen way. Just great!

Disingenuous telling the truth is being disingenuous now because Israel is not a colonial occupier at all people are just making that up somehow anyone who supports Israel is most likely a racist you’re the same people that are OK with what happened with colonizing the Americas it’s OK when your European ancestors do it but when brown people do the same thing it’s a problem. Indigenous people don’t deserve to have the same rights that Europeans coming to indigenous countries have it’s OK for you to slaughter entire populations and occupy the land and create your own country, but Latin indigenous people do the same thing they’re the problem. Except he has brought in two women who are as equally biased and not really being objective. Neither can admit to failures on both sides in any meaningful way, Abbey cannot even admit that Hamas did atrocious things on Oct 7, nor what is in their original charter, which should not be disguarded EVER, not even if they later changed their charter for good PR. We would not believe the NAZI if they changed their charter, likewise we should not be so naive to believe Hamas, especially when they demonstrate by their actions on OCt 7.

First off, Tim kills it in these interviews. Does a beautiful job of asking the right questions without trying to belittle the person being interviewed. Second, this is just my opinion, but people like Abby Martin, aka experts in their own field, need to be more okay with counterpointing their own argument. I’m a dummy for sure, but she seemed to make a lot of good arguments, but when she says Hamas is “probably” antisemitic and says they aren’t also trying to commit genocide on Isreal, two things we obviously know are fact, it makes you have to question everything she’s saying before and after. Especially when she could say they are antisemitic and it wouldn’t change everything else she is saying about Isreal.

  • @sayitainttone88

  • @craigrussell3062

I had the same problem. I think she makes such strong, forceful, logical arguments, but statements like that just give her opponents too much of an opening to brand her as pro-Hamas and therefore not worth listening to. Why waste time trying to argue that Hamas isn't a terrorist organization? Sure, they're terrorists - but the reason people generally back terrorism is because they're desperate and helpless. If a dog bites you after you beat it after day of its life, why bother trying to argue that the dog didn't do it because it hates you?

Just how can you assume Hamas is going to commit genocide? They are locked into a concentration camp and trying to break out. They don't have near the military power to commit genocide, so it's not even feasible. Just from an objective perspective, they are getting to end the occupation. YOU WOULD DO THE SAME THING AND ASK FOR YOUR LAND TO BE FREE SAME AS THEM! If not, you're just a coward or lying to yourself. If and when Palestine is a free state and is controlled by an actual Hamas government, if they then make calls for genocide and killing all Jews, you could have a point. Otherwise, it's like saying the white supremacists on Rikers Island are trying to commit genocide... You can believe that, but it's completely unrealistic to the point of being a total non starter

There is a difference between civilians killed in cross-fire and unfortunate collateral damage, being at the wrong place at the wrong time vs going out with the sole intent to hunt, rape, and murder unarmed civilians. I do not understand how pro-palestine people do not get this...I was never pro-israel (and truthfully always cringed when Boomers were so pro-israel with super strong statements that sometimes came out of nowhere) but the egregious propaganda and outright lies from the pro-palestine crowd on Twitter does not help their case....

it's honestly better when people just wear their bias on their sleeve instead of "objectively" report which tends to just mean "say what the establishment says", considering the objectivity of events is always in question and every interpretation is subject to "experts" weighing in. And about the tunnels, when you're under siege anything that can be used to smuggle weapons or whatever terroristy thing you're thinking of is also something that can be used to smuggle food, water, medicine, which all fighting and civilian forces need.

We live in a world where a government can imprison 2.5 million people in an area one third the size of New York City, systematically exterminate them (as is reported by the UN, International Amnesty and even Human Rights Watch) and even cut their food, water and electricity supply and (for some people) this somehow isnt genocide? Israel has recently admitted to indiscriminately firing at targets during the 7th October attack and even 'adjusted' the originally reported number of civilian casualties of the attack. Yet, (for some people) it is still a controversial statement to say that we dont know what actually happened.

I read an article by Andrew Sullivan on substack arguing that any American protesting against Israel's treatment of Palestinians must be motivated by antisemitism. Here's the logic he uses: 1. There are plenty of other acts of mass killing in the world going on that they could be protesting against, so how come they choose to protest against this one? 2. You might respond that they're choosing to protest against Israel because the US is funding them and giving them the weapons they use to exterminate Palestinians. 3. But this is illogical too, because everyone knows that it's Israel telling America what to do, not America telling Israel what to do, so protesting is futile, because everyone knows American politicians don't have any actual power to stop the war. (!!!) 4. Therefore the protesters must REALLY be protesting because they just hate Jewish people. I'm like Tim: I don't pretend to have any knowledge about this issue, and I try to listen to both sides' arguments with an open mind. I love the Jewish people and culture, and I thought October 7 was a horrific, ugly tragedy. But the logical knots that the pro-Israeli side of this debate tie themselves up in are just too absurd to accept.

She knows so very little about the things she argues so very passionately about...
