This video introduces the process of making a Bonsai pot.
"Seiyokai" is an association of craftsmen in Kyoto who are dedicated to the production of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery. For about 100 years, this area has been producing famous ceramic artists and craftsmen with solid skills, who have dedicated their lives to the production of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery.
There is an annual project that the members of Seiyokai gather together and come up with one theme. Then different craftsmen use each unique skill to produce a work of art under one theme.
This year's theme is a BONSAI pot.

We watched the bonsai pots being born of clay, glaze, strength and fire. I wish we could have seen the finished pots completed up close and in detail. I imagined that with so much exclusivity we would have seen new designs and exquisite craftsmanship. Bonsai is a wonderful way to express Japanese nature in a limited space. I didn't know that bonsai pots(bonsaibachi) are made with so much effort. It would be wonderful to use such a beautiful bonsai pot(bonsaibachi).
