Chris, thank you for another excellent review and phone test. I checked out the official website, when will the V20 go on sale and what is the OS and Security Update timetable? looks like a good phone for someone on the go or on the worksite.

I bought a Doogee some years back from Amazon for £44, did not use it for ages, thought why did I buy it, can not be any good £44.Anyway, a few weeks back I got it out the draw, charged it up, and started playing with, It really is a decent phone, and works well. I put the name in KZread and was surprised they still make them, worth checking out.

Good to see you making a rugged phone review for the sake of tormented dads , not that this one survived child abuse, it may be military grade, but a playful child is any phones' mare. I got sick of buying new display after new display, before getting the family a tough Dogee without a tail to play around with.

This thing has a top bezel big enough to house about ten front facing cameras but no, they had to put a freakin sh*t hole in the display!!! 🙄😒🤦‍♂️

Well otherwise you might have a weak point in the protection? Though the other guy’s point is probably more accurate.

I honestly thought this phone was going to be a disaster when I first started the video but by the end of it I was sold on it, not a bad device for the money

I purchased this phone and the first thing I noticed is that it can't view KZread videos in HD due to a issue with the codec. Another is that it doesn't work with AT&T bands although it lists the same frequencies. Also after three months the fingerprint sensor died. It took three weeks for Doogee to reply and they said the repair would require me to pay for shipping even though it was still under warranty. I do not recommend buying from this vendor.

Doogee have loads of models have you done any comparison with the makes we've heard of?... And what there models do ? ... Cheers

Now is 5th August but this phone still looked premium. The second rugged with Amoled screen so far (after Blackview 9600) and i don't find our any other rugged phone with amoled screen apart from this Doogee V20 and Blackview 9600 but with extra mini screen on the back. The only con just its display brightness. It is just remain at 500 brightness nit maximum. . This is outdoor smartphone, the manufacturer must do something about it.

The Unihertz Atom XL might be a good option for you.

Best bring a packed lunch and bed while waiting for updates to say the least...

Much better durability test than "deeper grooves at level 7" type test 😁

Do a test of the Voice Recorder. That was my major disappointment with the Doogee phone i used 4 years ago. (Doogee N10)

Bought Doogee s88 pro November 2020 on Android 10 and still is on same version, the security updates are about 4 months late + the camera and the camera app is blocking occasionally and even when it is working is no good. But if you need a soldier smartphone this one will do.

If you care about updates on android, you don’t have a choice but to go pixel or Samsung. I don’t know any other manufacturers that are willing to commit to android updates

I used the V20 plug to mould a new one out of epoxy but with a magnetic usb-c charging connector in it. I moulded it thicker so it's flush with the surface of an aftermarket TPU case. I do a lot of metal work and fine metal dust gets everywhere and I had to replace the usb-c circuitboard on my last ulefone phone twice. Although that means I'm limited to 5V charging I hope that the usb-c connector on the V20 will be protected for the life of the phone and not wear out from daily plugging in for charging or FOD. I have even put a bhit of cloth bandage over the speaker port under the TPU case to stop metal dust getting in there.

i bought this phone the wireless charging broke in the first week. The screen started developing lines about 4 weeks in. The camera was half decent but no real optical image stabilisation to speak of. Its just a expensive brick now. That no longer works.

3310 still beats it 😅 Hair dryer and it's as good as waterproof to!

Well if you would have left the screen protector on like they had installed and gave you an extra one that's part of the whole protection idea everyone knows that gorilla glass is going to break I don't care how rugged the case of the phone is if you don't have some sort of screen protector on it it will break and that's why they installed one so that's more your fault than theirs for the screen breaking

Screen protectors only protect against scratches, they do absolutely nothing to protect from an actual impact.

Could be a lot better for that kind of price.

Not good performance wise as the Nokia G11 which costs only £130 has as powerful a cpu inside

I have this phone and it's absolutely terrible. First accidental drop shattered 25% of the screen. The texting is terrible; i almost always press a wrong letter. The camera is very bad and discolored. The night vision is practically no good and only takes photo's during night vision mode. The audio during call's is bad. And the outer rubber covering wears out over time.

Good luck with Doogee phones. I bought 2 S97 Pro phones. $400+ TRASH. One the screen cracked after falling out of my pockets on gravel. The other's speaker blew out from the sound enhancement software. THESE pretender rugged phones are a FK'N JOKE! 🙄😅

You completely ignore all the very poor ratings that customers have reported on trust pilot, most scoring the lowest possible 1 out of 5, and most saying their Doogee phones have broken in a short space of time. Therefore strongly indicating the build quality is very poor !

Was keen on this until the screen went o. The durability test. That's a shame

Be careful Doogee recently got their hands on some cheap nand flash, many models are randomly doing Factory Resets as Android gets corrupted. Doogee will not refund.

I've been using doogee phone, and I can say that's the worst phone I ever had. Top of the shit. Problem with charging, problem with software, phone freeze for 4-6sec every time I tried to unlock that crap phone. Problem with using screen, NFC died, finger print sensor have to be set up again after few uses. Don't be a tester, as I was, and choose something else, not that crap phone.
