The sound the organ produces here kinda has a "sidechain" effect to my ears, probably not intended of course but it comes out that way. A lot of modern electronic music use the sidechain effect so maybe that's one of the reasons you make a disco-connection. The backing beat also has a skipping quality to it which also probably makes the song sound like it sidechains more if you will. This is just my very uneducated guess, just taking some ideas and thoughts out for a walk

Can we all just slow down and think about the full scope of what we are seeing here. Some one (or people) went to all the trouble of tracking down a 100+ year old pipe organ and making an entire full length punch card just to play some funky West German disco from the 70's about a Russian monk turned political play-boy just to see what it would sound like. This organ lived to see through the same man topple a centuries old empire, have a song created about him 60 years later, and then 40 years after that let it's sound be broadcasted to thousands of people around the world by a fantastical, futuristic information system like magic. I can only imagine what the original creator of this machine might have thought when they were building a simple carnival music machine.

This one there's no way to play live. You have to have punched cardboard music for it, but if you can get a MIDI file formatted the right way it can be processed into something one of the automatic punches can knock out. It takes hours per song to punch! Some other organs in that collection are MIDI enabled and can be played from a MIDI keyboard (to some extent) - but that feature is designed mostly for tuning and you can't really do everything at once from the keyboard. But you can theoretically put thousands of songs on an SD card and play whatever you want at a moments notice!
