True, but I hope they go back and add a couple more items to it. A dev weapon that increases strength and adds temporary invincibility to allow for Pro Wrestling moves on NPC's would be amazing. I kinda want to pick up NPC's and hurl them through boxes without a gravity gun, or turn them upside down and spike them on their heads without worrying about them slapping me to death in the process. Or just hurling guys into pits in the sewers. Maybe just an adrenaline needle in game lol? Just jam it into your arm or heart and get raging.

@@Gairsh98 what he meant by smooth locomotion is that in alyx you can't climb or jump across gaps, nor can you even vault over a simple ledge. you're forced to teleport over it which is why he's saying that boneworks is ahead of alyx

In reality you need a little bit of light for the night vision goggles to work, night vision goggles just magnify the light by a lot of times allow you too see through the goggles, if there is a flashlight then the initial light from the flashlight will be VERY bright (depending on the power on the night vision goggles) but the surrounding area other than the light from the flashlight will be very visible. Real life stuff

In real life you'd use an IR illuminator, not a flashlight. Also, using gen III tubes, even without autogating, flashlights would not be "VERY bright".

@@ov3rp0wered imo really good game, with physics and stuff, though it really lacks imo in physics polish, gun feel, and majorly it has terrible game/level design. that being said, it is imo one of the most nejoyable vr games there is yet - contenders for my favs are beat saber, boneworks, gorilla tag, and pavlov. goodies like cook sim vr, b&s, dirt rally 2, hla, jet island, have flaws in one way or another: -too intense/stressful + long days/levels -horrible enemies; they're robotic rubber pieces of shit which are op, unfun, unpredictable, and have no expression -dirt 2 is super fun and amazing though same problem with cook sim for me (also playing with a steering wheel and gearstick and pedals gets quite loud at night) -hla is boring af -jet island is boring, bad game design, graphics aren't great, and level look (i.e, entities, decorations, etc) is awful - so much so I don't even feel/understand how fast I go

It’s crazy to think that such a small vr developer team has created in my opinion the best vr game at the moment

Bob Shlong oculus link basically turns your quest into a rift there should be no reason why it wouldn’t. Actually I ordered a quest on Saturday but it still doesn’t have the tracking available it just says ships by December 27. Do I actually have to wait that long or do you think it’ll come sooner?

I got so into it I smashed my controller on my dresser about 4 hours in. Bone works is amazing. Boneworks is the perfect example of what happens when gamers make games. You guys are the fuckin bomb.

Been following this game for years, and I genuinely think in a few years, we'll be referring to games as "pre-Boneworks" and "post-Boneworks." It's *that* much of a milestone.

@@insdel3227 I get very good fps with mine? I even started a playthrough of Half Life 2 with mine and it works great. Ladders are frustrating but that's about it. I just use the Teleport tool and it fixes that though. Fps wise I get very close to a solid 60fps in HL2, but playing with mods going does slow down the fps a bit. Garry's mod in VR is very doable especially half life campaign.

I feel like this game is going to be the next Garry’s mod.

You say "It's out of hands now" are we gonna see community-made missions, physics objects, weapons and so on? I feel like you guys managed to create something more than just a game. This project has the potential to open up opportunities for others to make content using your tools. Your team has truly created something great and comparable to the massive leap forward in physics-based games just like Half-Life did years ago. I personally want to try and play this and have the same experience as I had playing Gmod years ago. Just need to save up for the index now... Don’t believe so, if followed the discord and reddit for boneworks, same question for modding. Devs said how they compiled it would be extremely difficult to make. Not only to mention then second a update or a patch comes out, that mods more than likely broken.

HL:A seems to be based a lot more around the story and other mechanics, whereas the physics are the centerpiece of this game. Not dishing on HL:A, I just doubt it will beat this game in that regard alone.

@@jonbrandre3006 honestly I've played the game a bit and it's pretty much a tech demo. It's cool and all but it's not as revolutionary as people expected. It's quite janky tbh. Will def keep playing though. It def made me realize why valve went with floating hands. Having arms and legs in this game really makes it awkward to move and interact.

I just finished the main story what a beautiful amazing tribute to farming its an understatement to say the levels of creativity love and passion that went into this game were high it is the best be game I have ever played and one of the best games I have ever played I want to say that stress level zero ,Brandon and the team working on this outdid themselves

i would hug brandon for allowing me to fufill my childhood dreams of being a superhero

This game will influence so many other devs to start making content for VR. VR still has less than 10 really good games. I really hope we get more quality VR games in the near future.

I just finished this a few hours ago, such a great vr title really taps into your immersion within a vr space. A really good way to let off some steam, and a great way to feel like John Wick. A multiplayer pvp/coop with these physics would be nuts.

I hate having enemies double damage. I would like to have enemies that are complex more agile and more intelligent.

@@loufbread26 Damn straight! though imo I would certainly want more literally balanced and real enemies -- boneworks is cool and all but their attacks are super chaotic which is super unfun. and it's very unfun to play melee and stuff when they just fucking launch themselves at you, flailing their cunt hands whenever they can; and with b&s their enemies are dogshit. horrible physics (cant knock over well), horrible balance (literally always teleport away from a dash attack), zero expressions and zero self worth; just dog shit. but yeah man if boneworks had good levels with a better gameplay loop/replayability design than just "play the game 7 more times but without using one of out best features (guns)!!", and with life-like enemies; ooh that'd be a goodie mate Also would be brilliant to have a vr game do good driving, ideally (ideally) with beamng physics

Just picked up this game a couple days ago and I'm blown away every time I put my headset on. You guys made a beautiful and amazing VR game that is like nothing else that exists today at least that I've seen, great job and I hope you make more and more games going forward. Thanks for sharing and as always keep building👍

Whenever Brandon is watching someone play the game he seems like a kid having fun watching his friend play with legos and seeing what they're gonna do with it.

Just go in with realistic expectations. I bought this and refunded it after an hour because it takes forever before you get to an actual fun part and there are no mid-level checkpoints so if you die (and you will) you have to restart the entire section.

Amazing work Brandon!! I hope this continues as a long running series. And with what you guys did with Duck Hunt was incredible, what's next for THAT???

I'm getting this game right after I get my VR for Christmas, 100% hyped.

Make sure to download these three titles! 1. Boneworks 2. Beat Saber (Yes.. this next one can be cringey, but a great experience) *drumroll* 3.VRChat There are other good VR games out, but these three are essential in completing the full experience!

There's no copyright issue as long as the gun itself isn't Portal's portal gun and it doesn't plagiarise Portal's code for the gun. Game mechanics can't be copywritten as concepts are too abstract and discourages competition. If it was, every FPS would owe iD Software royalties as they made one of the first FPS' (Doom). You'll love it! I got the Vive in 2016 and upgraded to Index this past Summer. It's as cutting edge as it gets, and if it's your first VR kit, you are in for a real treat.
