Honestly I think that's something the writers left out intentionally. Man needs to decompress. Touch or words in that moment might take him completely out of his sorrow and call on him to think of how he's being perceived instead. A comforting scene afterwards would be really nice, though.

I feel like less a cure would be right, but a way for him to stay in the sun for some time. Same for Karlach, a way to get her heart back from Zariel. Gale to find the crown and return it.. There are still storylines that can be expanded upon with the old companions and introducing new ones for a DLC...

especially when there is a mod available for a pair of promise rings where Tav can make blood wine for him and he can heal their bloodless condition...along with being able to Misty Step to each other in battle as a bonus action

I absolutely hated that the game didn't let me use disguse self to turn into Astarion to show him his reflection in the scene when he broke his mirror...I hated it so much. I wanted him to truly see himself. Of course I flattered him as much as i could (except when I got the chance to compare him to gale), but my words didn't do him justice. I had the spell prepared!!! Why can't I use it to turn into him? :(

My soul really hurts when Godey and Cazador talk about how "sweetly" Astarion screamed "for them." It's so horrible. I have to protect him.

One thing I find fascinating is his body language - he goes from having to look at Tav through his eyelashes when showing any venerability to being fully confident.

If you play Astarion as your MC you can go as far, as to carve the runes on Cazador’s back and yet still back out of doing the ritual. Wish you could do this here, since it felt fitting. Put Cazador through the same agonizing pain Astarion and his siblings had to go through, and then stab him to death.

Literally what I was thinking! First playthrough I was stunned Astarion just stabbed him to death. I will yelling how that was far too quick for a nasty evil vampire like him. I was wanting to do it myself lolol but then Astarion's emotional breakdown made me instantly protective huggy

I love that you choose the more confrontational options for this. I use these romance playthroughs in the background and it really lends a different tone to the astation romance if you call him out sometimes vs not. both are so fun.

I literally finished going through his novel 15 minutes ago... I feel so strange, during the scene of the murder of Kazador, I wanted to cry so much, but I didn't drop a tear, I just couldn't, only when I saw the scene in the cemetery and left the game, tears flowed from my eyes, so slowly.. I want so much to start crying, but as if something is in the way. Maybe it's that feeling of emptiness when you finally got what you were waiting for and now you don't know what to do next. What a pity that in the game you are limited to lines of dialogue and can't say all your words of love to this character. And I couldn't decide for myself whether to do it in the cemetery scene or just sit there together, I just really want to be with him together, but I got the impression from this scene that he really wants it, but I don't know how it would have been too little time. I just hope he was honest and really wanted it.❤

Man, when the frickin hunters are like "grr you took our children you're a monster" and I'm like "he was this dude's SLAVE, you jackasses. He had NO CHOICE. Hell no, I'm not going to help you if you're going to be dicks about it." I'm all for killing the master vampire and all but you do not do my boy Asterion dirty like that. You can choose to have yourselves and Astarion’s former fellow spawn to look after them, lead them through the under dark away from people. They like hundreds of years as captives and you think murdering them is the “kindest” thing to do? If you even think about it for a moment with proper morals, you’ll realize that’s absurd. Giving them a chance at freedom is the only good option. As for safety, I guess you could make that argument for anyone. Safer to kill anyone just in case they hurt someone. But that’s not how we want to live, is it? There’s a way to keep them from harming others while giving them a chance at life like a free Astarion.

@@kstar1489Not “just like Astarion” though. Astarion spent his first 200 years under the explicit control of the vampire that turned him, being used/trained/socialized. The caged spawn have been locked up and suffering for however many years, with no experience among the living, no forced restraint, and no tadpoles.

I’m a Drow in my playthrough. I’ll have to go back to the underdark anyway so why not spend my time with him? That’s all I want anyway.

Me either. Never even heard of this game. Just random shorts of Asterion, and I got hooked and have been binging on these ever since. Now, I might actually play this game. I've never been one for vampires much, but he changed my mind. Cutest vampire I've ever seen. 😍

There's not a play through I can imagine where Astarion isn't permanently in my party and gettinga decent storyline. I don't care what happens if I sell him out, kill him or boot him cause he's just too much fun. I'll RP pretty much every other scenario in the game just to experience it, but Astarion will always be the exception.

Psst, you don't need a PC! The Steam Deck is considerably cheaper, and BG3 runs just fine on it. You can also check out their refurbished Decks, which are cheaper than buying them new. I was in the same boat, so I just wanna let you know you have options!

i have never played this game but this is amazing, amazing story and character

i've just started watching this, & as someone who's romanced him for 900 hrs & counting, i find it so weird to see a "romance" where ppl pick the mean options with him. amazed it even works, honestly. at least the first 15 mins or so looks less like a romance & more like you absolutely hate him 😢

I decided to choose the slightly "spicier/meaner" ones out of curiosity, but also because it matched the way I imagined this Tav. Besides, in my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if many people started the game this way. Early on, Astarion threatens or holds a knife to Tav's throat, which can leave a bad taste.

I completely undersand you, but I think that the differences between those scenes make quite a lot of sense. I wouldn't consider non-ascended version vanilla by any means lol, it's very passionate (even spiritual in a sense) and you can tell that he cares for Tav. As for the ascended version, well...he's not himself anymore, he seems possessive and obsessive hence the more carnal aspect of the scene

Yeah, I get your point, but I don't see why the "good" stuff always has to be less carnal than the "bad" stuff... Good people also enjoy a nice session of carnal pleasure, so at the very least they could have given us something with the nudity and made it carnal but more loving and tender rather than just simply carnal... that would have been my preference@@xModronx And did I tell you i've now watched our video at least 3 times from start to finish? 😅It's so good ❤Thank you again!

I just wish we had the date night scenes that we get in the Astarion/Karlach romance, where they go for dinner and share a bed, but cuddle up and don't do anything but that.

You have to finish Astarion's quest (The Pale Elf). Whether a spicy variant of the scene will take place depends on the chosen dialogue options

i had that bug once, it messed up the game so bad astarion's quest would never update, definite restart for me
