Bondi Vet Visits The Cook Islands 🐶 | Bondi Vet Season 7 Ep 8 | Bondi Vet Full Episodes

Dr Chris Brown travels to the Cook Islands to help a busy vet clinic in the capital city Rarotonga. His first patient is Princess, a dog who has been hit by a car. Chris quickly finds out the challenges of looking after local pets, as the clinic is only equipped with basic facilities and limited supplies. His next patient is Mani the duck who has an awkward walk, eventually discovering that he has an infection on his foot. Another unusual local is Brownie the goat who has a serious addiction to Turkish bead. Meanwhile at Sash, Wolfhound Rogue has been brought to Dr Lisa Chimes with a worrying lump underneath his eye. Followed by 6 year old Molly the dig who has a badly swollen stomach.

@@tierischkreativ557 I know this is an old comment but for others like myself that are just seeing this episode, I'm guessing they showed the surgery of the eye being removed and it was flagged as inappropriate by KZread so they just cut out the section with the surgery.

I was your age when I decided to become a vet. So the best advice I can give you. Is your at the perfect age to choose the right subjects to progress to become a vet. You will definitely need Biology subject. Aswell as Chemistry. Not sure if their still called that now though. I was only 16 when I went to University to become a vet. I was fast forwarded at school lol. Yet it's been a very rewarding career. I'm an Equine Vet. So as my uncle owns a stud farm. I always knew I wanted to work with horses. Not small animal practices. So if you do set your sights on being a specialist. It's an even longer study path. Yet so worth it. I wish you all the best going forward. 😊

Years ago my 13-yr old dalmatian also had a twisted stomach. The vets in my city are very...ill equipped(trying to be polite) so we had to call another vet from another city far away. I already knew what will happen and i was trying to prepare myself; she pretty much confirmed what i knew would happen. Given his age he would either not survive the surgery or would not do well with recovery. We had to put him down. It was the hardest thing i had ever had to watch.

Took him straight to the vet, but he was so poorly, they said that his temperature was so high it was in brain frying territory, even with surgery at that point they were confident as to his quality of life. We ended up having to put him to sleep. I know the pain

Bloat(gastric torsion) can be caused my exercising too soon after a meal. Greyhounds and other large-chested dogs are especially susceptible. If the lady already had 1 dog die, and now has another needing surgery... she needs to be very careful in future. While there is no one specific cause, there are ways to help prevent. Smaller meals spread throughout day feed from floor level bowl, and no running or playing for at least an hour after eating...

I love that Chris and even the other vets go out and help ppl who don't have the money for basic or even more serious treatments for their pets. I can't imagine living on that island with my dog and have my dog run free or living outside in a small dog house on a chain. I'd definitely have my dog inside and I'd walk it on a leash if I have to. Or I'd build a fence if I could, but it's a bit cringy 😬 to see how all these pets are left to run around and roam around all by themselves. It's their way of life though and even though I may not get why they do what they do? That doesn't mean they love their pets any less! Love is, can be shown and received in so many different ways and there are so many different types of live as well. So I hope they'll make sure to keep their doggy closer to them from now on 🙏 I had a dog which we had to put to sleep after a horrific hit and run. Her eyes were popped out, she was twirling and bleeding, it was horrific and heartbreaking 💔 To this day I don't know how she got out? So I'm very overprotective with my doggies now and they never go anywhere without my knowledge and supervision. But yeah good luck to all these free roaming dogs and cats on that island 🏝

It'd be really nice if these "full episodes" didn't have major, obvious cuts in them, such as going from "this dog is in serious danger, we need to do a procedure to stabilize her before surgery" to "the surgery went well! Let's hope she recovers"

Places like this need A lot of help. Various ways. Animal signs to roads, fences, more medical items, treatments and workers. As shouldn't have to travel for x-ray to get results like that.
