    Those millstones were very heavy; you could tell by the effort it took them to unload. Yet here is Hoss running only the two horses. As if they weren’t already worn out and Hoss wants to run them. And then Joe cheers him on . I have said it before; David D. and the writers had little regard for animals. They made the Cartwrights look callous and those playing the Cartwrights went along with it. Still, Bonanza is a great show and I love the Cartwrights and the players always

    Jeez, did living in the Wild West drive everybody insane or something? It seems like every episode, the Cartwrights are dealing with escapees from the loony factory. Good episode though.

    Check it out at 40 seconds is so good how they do that showing her riding out in that field and the horse and then switch to the soundstage of the Ponderosa home comes riding in to it

    the best part starts at 30:00, the 3 brothers wiff hoss hogging the scene. all thought this episode is formulaic and we all knew how it wud play out it wuz fun watching. i thought i seen all bonanza but i didnt remember this won.

    One thing in this episode is true: Ben loved Tom's wife and tried to win her although he knew that she was married. That's strange! And wasn't it against the high principles of the very honorable Ben Cartwright? I think he changed his attitude towards honor and principles when he was involved. But naturally that was written in the script.

    when I was a kid I thought this was a great show , couldn't wait till sunday nite but now... this is so phony and sick , why am I watching it ? even that mill is so stupid , the creek id 40 feet below and the water magically goes right up there just by the turn of some stupid little valve , sure , then it dumps off the wheel onto flat ground in front of the house , right .
