I recognized the actress that played Emma right away. That's Julie Sommars. She had a very distinct voice. She was in some Disney movies in the 1960s and 1970s. She was also in some other shows. She was in "The Love Bug in Monte Carlo" with Dean Jones.

Some shows will always be great and will withstand no matter how much time has passed. Bonanza is one of those shows. Thank you "KZread" for airing these shows. Thank you also for presenting some fine cooking shows like Rachel loves cooking.

In this days that we are living there’s no one compared like the Cartwright to do a show like Bonanza, not even one in this year 2024. Bonanza is one of the greatest shows of all times.

This show is probably too masculine for you. The Cartwrights are wholesome 😌 You know that Little Joe was Pa, to half-pint... Charles to his wife.

It's amazing how Will Cartright changed his name to Robinson, had a son named Will, lived 150 years only to become Lost In Space with his family, the first ever to live in outer space on a spaceship called the Jupiter 2

I was going to say something about how he had the name of Will in this TV series and in the Lost in space he played the father of Will Robinson! Also don't forget that Angela CARTWRIGHT played his daughter Penny on Lost In Space!

Michael Landon looks SO young!! I am so use to him older in the highway to heaven episodes. haha

Guy was better off not staying as he went on to star in his own series Lost in Space and Zorro which were also great shows.

I Believe Mr Guy Williams would have been an Excellent Permanent Addition to the Cartwrights on Bonanza back in the Early and Mid 1960s.

Be you, be kind and always strive to make our Planet Earth a better place, just like the Cartwheels, sorry the Cartwright's...

The Bonanza Show intended to fill Pernell's place with Guy Williams, because Pernell was ready to move on to other things. But, Pernell changed his mind, and extended his contract, so Guy was dropped from the show. Guy is one of the few people who could replace Pernell Roberts, with a smooth transition.

This is badass. This is what everyone is watching for 2022

They sure don't make am like that anymore. Guy William was a good addition to BONANZA. To bad he never stayed on.Other obligations with the other Studios from what I heard.Anyway a great episode none the Less.

Poor Guy Williams had been planned to take over for Pernell Roberts who was quitting the show, but at the last moment Pernell decided to stay on another year. I think Guy got ripped off. It would have been great for him and Pernell hated the show from day one and wanted to do movies. No offence to ranch hand Candy, (David Canary) cousin Will Cartwright would have been a great replacement and it would still have been all in the family..

I did not like Candy or Will at all. Especially Will. Adam was not replaceable and it was too bad Pernell Roberts was a fool and left the show just because he thought he could do Shakespeare, stop calling Ben his PA and take off that wig. The only thing he did of any significance after Bonanza was to do a show about a bald headed man whose name was stolen from M.A.S.H.

Guy Williams fight scene with the blonde bad guy’s hair is black when he fights him. They should have at least a blonde headed stuntman 😅!!

'Julie Sommars' has a very distinctive voice('Julie Marsh' on "Matlock")..

I dont know why this one was called the roper, but it was still a good episode.

I think because Will roped in the gang members by giving them false information to keep them around so they'd get nailed.

The unchanging look of utter disdain on Adam's face is priceless! (I sympathize, if I'd had a family member who ate like that, I'd never sit at the table with him again!)

Great to watch these videos again and again

By the time this episode was made, Pernell Roberts had already announced his decision to leave the show. Guy Williams, playing the part of Ben Cartwright's nephew, was supposed to replace Adam - the two men look a great deal alike - , who would probably be the unfortunate victim of some ambush to explain his retirement from the series. You can see in this episode that Adam hardly appears, is always being told to do some secondary task, and in the end he rides beautiful Sommars to town while Will replaces him going back into the Ponderosa house with Ben, Hoss and Joe. Pity that Roberts decided to leave, he cut a very charismatic character and the series never really recovered from his loss.

Michael Landon demanded that Guy Williams leave the show out of petty jealousy. Landon was a small man in more ways than one.

Classic western...guy gets punched in the mouth 10x, gut 10x, thrown overhead 3x and hasnt a bruise afterwards...yet, they get away w this in every episode...also there is almost no conscience when killing a man...BOOM--he's dead, next scene he's eating breakfast...but we love em'

I like it when these cowboys get shot almost point blank and live or survive for days... But fall dead instantly when hit with an indians arrow which produces no cavitation injuries.

The Cartwright's never knew true happiness.

They are. The good guys lost their grip on law and order and now the bad guys are in charge. Just waiting it out now. "If I make a move against Lee, will you help me?" Who are the "haters"? What is Freedom for, to destroy what and to build what? Are we free to pursuit happiness? Or free to ENSURE we are happy?

I'll always like many of the shows in this series but watching so many, since a lot of time on my hands, the Bonanza series is very much soap opera-ish...and when I am able to explain it better, I will.

Why do they do gunfights like this? They think that the audience doesn't understand the concept of surrounding a house? Sure, with limited cameras and film, it's cheaper for everyone to be in a line. And then all of the Cartwrights stand up to show their positions. The hostages, don't try leaving out the back door. It was a good story. A bit tough to make stringing them along believable but this is supposed to be the climax. How did people receive this when it was made? The audience just doesn't care?

If anything happens to him by time I get through with you…the buzzards won’t even want you!!! 😅

I expected Will to leave a clue in the house. Like, he could have palmed something from the safe and left it in Ben's desk. Ben would think that was odd, a message of some kind, but not know what. Or left anything personal. Or even a streak of blood. It would have made sense for him to leave his saddle bags because the thieves don't know that it's his, unless there's something identifying in it.

The gang makes a silent entrance from one corner of the house.

The "wife of the bandit" is the Atlanta DA who became Ben Matlock's girlfriend. Guilty as charged.
