Bonafide PWR 129 - First Fishing Trip On The New Kayak

Bonafide Kayaks has nailed it when it comes to the Bonafide PWR 129! As of writing this, I've had way more experiences on this kayak, and you'll see me really put this kayak to the test in immediate upcoming videos. For now, here's a look back to March when my friend Todd (Topshelf) comes out onto the water with us and helps us target fish using Livescope. This is a wonderful device specifically for eliminating dead water which really helps especially in the colder months!
I'm serious, you'll be wanting to check the next upcoming videos I'm working on. A terrific Ct River episode and a long Cayuga Lake and Otisco Lake series of videos, with 3 (kinda 4) camera angles all edited together. May sound cheesy, and I feel cheesy writing it, but I mean it when I say you're not going to want to miss those!

Congrats on the new rig Kris. I can see where FFS is an amazing educational tool for fishing but I am glad the GSKAs don’t allow it. I will have a hard enough time competing as is without it. 😂. Great meeting you yesterday, looking forward to doing more tournaments with you all. ✌️ Don

Yeah, on the more "serious" tourney trails FFS is fair game and at least 90% of the field has it. I will have it as soon as I can, but financially speaking..I feel like it will be awhile. Nice meeting you as well Don!

I was wondering if you had any issues with the rudder ?? I've tightened it, but it won't do down in the water . Works fine out of the water. Just ordered the spot lock can't wait .

So I had noticed the rudder was tight in my first trips out. I spoke with Bonafide and I believe some adjusting would help, but they also suggest to store the kayak with the rudder in the down position. Personally, I get in, if I can remember I keep my Muck boots on and I get the rudder down while it's in the water. If I forget to (I very often forget to) then I'll use my paddle and bump on the back a little where the rudder is installed and I will "shimmy" my feet back and fourth. I would like to go over the rudder system a little more to see if it can be made to deploy easier. But overall, once I get it in the water and straight, I don't adjust it or use it while running. Sorry to bother you, man, but I got one more question , how shallow can you go with the motor guide? can't decide between the newport vessel or motor guide .

@@bobbybass1944 You're not bothering me in the slightest! I can run around 1.5' before the bottom skeg starts to scrape on stuff. This is with my motor all the way adjusted down.
