I’m so glad Richie appeared at the ceremony and played with the band after leaving so abruptly. He’s really an exceptional guitar player and a rather underrated singer in my opinion

Was heavily corrected in the studio prior to release . He was actually very out of tune

@@fritzmuller8246 To the contrary, it was not. I am one of the engineers working that evening. I will also add that Jon was still recovering from a bronchial infection at that time; and the band even considered not performing. But Jon decided that he needed to move forward with the performance, despite not having been able to sing for several weeks prior.

Oh btw Phil doesn’t slop around and mess up the guitar solos like what Richie does . If I had to see Richie and Phil x go ahead to see who does the guitar solos better , I’d have to pick Phil x all day long

Come on, Richie is just rusty. The fact that he stopped playing this song for almost half a decade and can still improvise a good guitar solo shows that he’s a competent guitarist. Phil is too but he still needs a bit more experience to match Richie’s level. Edit: Also, if you're playing live in a concert, why play exactly like the studio version? The point of a concert is to have a unique experience with the artists. You can see in Bon Jovi's older concerts that Richie loves to improvise a unique guitar solo into every performance. See how much the studio version and the 1995 version differs from one another, this one is no exception. If you play exactly like the studio version, why go play live in the first place? Improvisation is what Phil X clearly lack and need to improve if he wants to be on the same level as Richie.

I think Jon should refund the tickets so the audience can go home and rest and stop singing. They spend money to watch performance , not to watch an old man stand breathing on stage
