@@LordOfLight Cohen is quite credible when it comes to the facts being considered important for this trial. Evidence given by others back up his credibility. That is why there were numerous other witness testimonies. He is opinionated though and has a troubling history in other areas. As DeniseBlasor said though, he is not on trial even though the defense is trying to put him on trial.

It'll be up to the prosecution's closing arguments to steer the jury to the facts, and away from the defense's distractions. Will any of this matter? Will any of this change a single vote, one way or another?

Exactly. Cohen's testimony has been corroborated by other evidence (e.g., the memo with the handwritten notes explaining the expected payments). The jury will review all that evidence when they deliberate.

Some people think he was convicted in a trial, but he pleaded guilty, so he didn't even fight the charges. I have read the transcript and the DA is trying to connect dots but now that the defense is showing more dots, it changes the lines. DA lines don't match when you have all the text and paper trail.

I'm under the same impression, since the media and all those allowed to sit in the court from the public. In and out at every court hearing break. Years ago, I was selected to serve as a juror on a defendant's criminal illegal firearm case, and several other charges and jurors were instructed by the presiding judge "to not talk to the media until after the verdict was reached." We were instructed with consequences to face. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for pointing this out. It's been bothering me no end. Trump every day is disgusting, a liar, demeaning, an aspiring dictator, a man who violates women, runs fraudulent businesses, defames people, you name it. Their goal is to bring reasonable doubt in the mind of at least 1 juror. If that jury is 99% sure Trump is guilty, they must vote to acquit. the defense is simply trying to get that 1% into someone’s mind.

not defending Cohen, But the fact that the Judge that oversaw and reviewed his plea deal wasn't questioning why he was the only one in a conspiracy crime being charged is really bad. He has every reason to be mad at that judge and how that went down. IF you're in a group prosecution, and you wind up being the only person charged, and the judge never asked why is this case in front of me vs a dozen others, then you would be equally or more upset.

The prosecution gets to rebut, which gives them a chance to clarify for the jury that Cohen might be a liar and a crook, but that is exactly why he was Trump's fixer, and that he lied and committed crimes FOR Trump, which is why Trump re-paid him all that money with those checks.

The re-direct will be important to contextualize when he lies, for whom he lied, and for whom he lied. At the end of the day the jury will have to weigh Cohen (who acts a lot like Trump) against evidence that at least until now, is not under dispute.

Kristi is obviously still friends with Blanche. While Blanche did a good job of bringing up Cohen's past transgressions, he didn't disprove any of Cohen's current testimony. It doesn't matter what his motivation is, it matters what the truth is. So it's all the testimony and documentation vs getting one juror to believe Trump is innocent.
