Maybe I'm just new here, but I feel like Pigbaby kind of came out of nowhere. We see Hero, MC, Oz, Polt, Hyun, Bomber, etc winning so many tournaments. Its nice to see a slightly lesser known player rise through the ranks. GG!

The game was 3-3 until the final match, stop whining about imbalances, that was as close as it could've been! Impressive play from both, this actually looked like the finals! Best series I've seen in a long time.

This was so crazy and daring from both of these players. Craziest finals I've seen in a long, long time...

My first finals in a long time, i stop watched Starcraft for several months, it's good to be back by watching such awesome and fun games.

This was awesome, thx ESL for putting out early vods!

Congratulations to Pigbaby. I've just done seeing all his games since the Round of 16 and I must say I was never this utterly shocked in my life. I know, as usual, a good deal of the Starcraft community will whine about balance, as is always the case, even more so when there's an upset. But in the end...I'm just as pleased as the casters were. I've never seen someone bring out such a fresh style to Starcraft, except maybe for Bomber himself who was also wondrous throughout the whole tournament, but in the end, Pigbaby took it, and he did it awesomely. Huzzah for that fucker!

I love how hype everybody gets before the game, with the cheering and clapping. That's how things should be.

This is the first time in a long time that i root for protoss. Amazing play from both players!

ugh so pissed that i didn't have WiFi on vacation. Now i have to watch this after everyone, but it doesn't keep it from being just as awesome lol :D

That's how I started :D It's a fun game to watch even when you're not completely into it. Give it some time and eventually you'll get the hang of what's going on, perhaps even play a match or two yourself.

Win or lose for both players, they gave us great games. It's sad that 1 player had to be the winner but they gave us great games. I wanted both of them to win which wasnt possible so great games were enough. Great class and can't wait for next season.

if u guys have not noticed, pigbaby is definitely not a famous player in korea (proleague) and has not settled in his own team. (jinair) i dont even get how he got thru all this wcs america series qualifiers. when i turned this on channel i was actually very surprised how he got into this final match. As you guys know, bomber is an experienced player, for long time and he been running this tournament regularly. However, what pigbaby showed up is a new paradigm for the protoss players. Absolute diversity. I would like to see many unknown, underestimated players out there to show what they've got like this matchup. so excited about next season.

When I see new units in Starcraft Expansions, I expect them to be of pivotal use to pros. I haven't seen much action with Tempests until now. Hats off to pigbaby for finally making that happen with the Tempest; untilI saw this clip, I didn't find any clips of them being used for practical purposes. This is to say I don't completely count "Tempest Terror" as that could have easily been prevented if there were earlier mutalisks or nothing but mass corruptors and a few zerglings or banelings to take care of the high templar. So the trick is to hide them when you can and allow their massive HP to compensate for their slowness, huh? I didn't think that the marines were so vulnerable to them until this clip helped me realize the need to have A LOT of them if that's the plan to kill them in exchange for a detrimental lack of Vikings. In any case, I expect this to make at least minor appearance in the future "best of 2014".

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand protoss won everything :D w/e tho this series was the best i have ever seen taking the spot of Scarlet vs Bomber... Bomber just gives awesome games!!

WOW. So... this is my very first sc2 experience. Lost my sc2 virginity right here right now. Amazing game, although I haven't got substantial knowledge of other games to compare it to, I enjoyed this thoroughly. Is this game always this fun and interesting?

Spoiler Great match. Didn't think it would got to seven games, but amazing how each game was so unique. I think the better player won as he threw away a win, took a huge chance in another game and still managed to win 4 out of the 5 other games. You can tell he really benefited from knowing each players style, but being able to know exactly which unit to go for in each situation was really eye opening.

The two players that have gotten into Code S Korea are in the final final match for WCS AM, not that surprising.

I feel like if Sentries were removed Protoss would be fine. Force Fields decide so many of these high level games it's sad.

***** who doesn't have to micro their army? anyone has to on that level. and terran counters anything, and i mean anything, by the same move on mmm... splitting. you don't have to take too different approaches no matter what you're facing, be it storm, fungal, ultras, colossi, banelings... sure, it's not easy, but the game isn't meant to be mastered by everyone anyways. plus, it can be ridiculous how much damage they ditch out, and if a split is realised before an engagement starts, terran is the one who can almost a-move his army. by now toss probably wonder how they ever defended without FO. I'm taking a wild guess, just like me you never made it to a level in SCII where the balance actually plays a role. You obviously never built ravens, because if you did, you wouldn't complain about terran having less spells than the other races.. PDD and HSM can turn around a game just as quick as storm or fungal

does anyone know, what kind of that little sacks they have in front of them? Are those like finger heaters?

The carrier rush was fuckin' funny, almost never see that in pro play.

That first game was cool for a few moments. We need a buff to capital ships.

SPOILERS!!!! First: Epic series. As much as I don't like Protoss all of WCS America had little psi storm activity and were not to blame for the games lost by Z or T. This is how Protoss should play all the time vs. Terran bio: no storm (which is op but whatever) good use of force fields that's okay, and straight up strength vs strength. That is how this TvP series was played and that's what made it great. Second: I think if Bomber had lifted off his starport and put it with a reactor off of one of his racks things would have been different. He could have done that before the first attack, or even after his first attack was held off. He would have had more vikings then but he was in auto pilot after winning vs carriers in that earlier game with marines. That coupled with the fact that If Bomber's medivac that had 8 marines in it didn't get sniped, the game would have been different then as well. Third: I liked Pigbaby's humility, that coupled with his comment at the end about America was really nice, its hard to dislike him even though he is Protoss. Most importantly he deserved the win. Not only was he a great decision maker but an excellent reader and counter to the many opponents he faced proves he deserved to be champion. Even though Bomber didn't win I would say the same thing to him. Fourth: Isn't this the farthest Bomber has ever gotten is WCS? I might be wrong but I thought the caster said something along those lines. If so I would be disappointed but I could find consolation in second place especially after such a close series of wits. Fifth: 4 Terrans made it to the round of 8 that is UNPRECEDENTED!!! I don't think that has ever happened before. So many other competitions and tournaments AT BEST you had 1 Terran, 3 Zerg and 4 Protoss in the Round of 8. But this time there were 4 Terran, 2 Zerg and 2 Protoss. There is still some balancing to work out but this series shows that the balancing is being addressed a little at a time and that the balanced representations of all the races in the Round of 8 is coming. Protoss doesn't need the cheap psi storm to win they just need to fight harder. And its not like we can't have good games to watch without the psi storm as we just saw. No one can say that the Round of 8 series were boring, there was NO PvP that's why. And all the Terrans weren't forced to kill each other of before the semifinals either as what happens in so many tournaments. All in all, a great WCS tournament!

PROBLEM WITH SPOILERS, if you have spoilers turned off you can still be spoiled by the recent scores which have the winners name in BOLD. Please fix this, I already have to block the view of the progres bar because you use youtube, but now I have to make sure to not see ANYTHING on the right side of the page too =/.

You can just feel the pain of Terran and Zerg. Protoss have the defensive capabilities to stop nearly anything Terran and Zerg throw at them cost effeciently with the Mothership Core, and also have the possibility to all out cheese to get that advantage going early. Zerg needs something (special) to combat Sky Toss and MMM. Why is it that Zerg has 3 ground upgrades AND double sky upgrades, but Terran has 3 upgrades? Terran needs something to combat the MSC. They can chrono probes for days to get an economical lead with 10-15 probes more at the 10 minute mark. I've seen so many pro matches that these things are the most irritating. I feel like Zerg HAS to expand on a Protoss' natural to stop them from getting such a lead with 2 bases, that always goes to an all-in.

why Bomber didn't make Raven? it can scan DT and save CC's energy to call down MULE. and if something goes wrong can blast Protoss Death Ball with Seeker Missile or block their escape path with Auto Turret

My biggest issue with pvt is the Colossus and zealots. Most toss players dont really get the difference in playing them. Toss usually says oh just get Vikings if we have Colossi, Vikings are op. But they are not, not even close. Its so simple getting 3-4 Colossi, you could do it off one robot with chrono np. But to counter with Vikings you need minimum 2 reactor starports to make 4 at a time just to keep up (which negates medical production). So even if you trade equally between colossi and vikings its easier to restock as toss, both faster and cheaper. The second problem is actual engagements as the vikings only kill Colossus all the while the Colossus deal tons of damage. There is nothing terran can do about that, we just have to eat that damage. We could kite but zealots chase for days, all the meanwhile a group of 10 stalkers kills all of your Vikings. Terran has a very hard time dealing with zealots that tank so well with colossus behind them just dealing damage. How many times do we see an engagement where all the colossus die but there is mass of zealots just chasing, buying time for more colossi and or storm/archon. Since vikings are almost exclusively anti-toss I think blizzard should take a strong look at buffing vikings whether making them faster, slightly faster dps, more versatile in ground fights. Like I said, biggest issues is the combination of zealots and colossus fighting at the same time. Frankly, I dont ever know how to counter mass zealots and rarely do I see a pro terran win against a toss with 35 or so zealots. Im actively looking for answers. Mass widow mine? 35 ghosts?

KarelTheSwordMaster removing terran lift lolol you are saying to remove the key fundamentals of the terran race that was present since SC1, that made terran truly a distinguished race(along with being the only race that didn't have healing abilities until medic/medivacs). BLASPHEMY! I wouldn't mind removing mules as long as scvs take less time to build or something.

Pie holic i'm just stateing that many many times the advantage and safetiness than that gives terrans is plain out dumb, to the point that if you got 0 air units you literally cant win. also as a side note, do you realize that late game Terran it's 12 scvs and everything else is units? mules 0 supply!!! Where's the balance in 130 supply armys vs 180 suply armys?

Great win by Pigbaby! However, I would be in favor of either changing all maps to prevent Terran from floating buildings away to force draws (they're the only ones that can), or make the buildings take damage if they do not land after set time...like Zerg buildings that don't have creep. That battle where Major was able to force the draw on VortiX was awful, and you know that Bomber was trying for that same thing too.
