I don’t think even most fans realise the genius of this - 2 people talking about deeply unhappy things yet in an incredibly upbeat immortal piece of music defining some of the lyrics that I need to feel the negative to reach for the positive, true genius musically and lyrically. From SZA to Doja, From Coldplay to Ed Sheeran, any artist any genre this is the song of the year and possibly their greatest in terms of all round genius, I’d even say and understand these lyrics and say yeh decent song if it was with the melody and tone of the downbeat you’d expect but transform and cover both lyrically and musically then musically and lyrically every emotion to turning a negative into a positive etc just by showing that something like the music even over these lyrics can pick you up. Genius
