This video shows normal stresses in the bolt & nut threads as well as the bottom joint member along the bolt axis (y-axis). Simulation undergoes, the following load steps:
1) Initial bolt preload
2) Preload relaxation due to embedment & elastic interaction
3) Applied tension load
Notice how the thread stresses remain unchanged until the applied tension load causes the joint members to separate. After this point, the stresses go up rapidly.
