Its NEVER too late. I've always loved hard rock and thrash but didnt go full blown Death Metal til my early 30s and Black Metal early 40s! Get out there and absorb as much as u can. And dont worry....Death Metal is not dying anytime soon. Still going strong since its inception over 30 years ago.

This was the Christmas present I ever received from my dad and my stepmom...so happy I still own it all these years later.

I love the solo the song it's like the quintessential old school death metal solo.

if you could pick a "polished" bolt thrower album it would be this... the display of the groove death and then the element of the double bass bash thrash death... timeless. this will be heavy and good in 30 years, it is just damn a perfection of their sound.

i remembered blasting some grindcore, death and blackmetal songs and some old hardcore tunes from my mini compo and i put it by the windows directed to the guy next door and some other days in the long road trip with my family just to piss them off, and they got outrageous, and the more they mad and the more people got upset my love to the music has grown bigger and it lead me to dig more of the music. what a nostalgic.

Actually pretty overrated haha, even compared to a popular album like Altars of madness from 89 this is nowhere near its league in terms of musicmanship

The best BT album, educational, heavy, horrific, the first time I ever listened to it the final song gave me chills. War can end if we want it to, we are conscious enough to realise it is wrong to kill our own kind

my friend has been pushing these guys on me forever and I'm so glad I finally gave it a 🎶 listen

When it came out we were floored, 14 years old and this on speakers. 29 years later still rocking it

This record is in my all time favourite Top 10 Death Metal albums...

Bolt Thrower is AMAZING.

This album was one of my first cds, and I must have been obsessed with it, cos while I haven't listened in many years, it's all come back to me. Or maybe their riffs are so heavy, they carved indelible trenches in my ears and brain. Marvellous. Even learning some of the tunes.

There was a bit of a Latin/Greek schism building at the time with smaller atrocities on both sides, the 4th crusade was defeated in the field by Muslim forces, when they retreated they went through Constantinople, they looted it and massacred inhabitants and clergy as they went. Many religious icons and works remain in Italy, but many have been returned to various orthodox churches in the last century however, which is encouraging.

When you saw these guys live in little Midlands clubs on the 'Battle' tour you knew you heard something special, then they released albums that sounded like this and you were blown away! My favourite Death Metal band to this day, they were perfect!
