Getting Pongorma to use Bombo Genesis was always super rewarding too, since he talks about it on the airship

POV: You're not sure what the fuck just happened but you're down about 200 health and are on fire

It's so neat how this song is not only much more agressive than the rest of Hylics 2 but also uses several melodies from battle themes. It's saying like "no, Pongorma is here to kick ass. That's it." In a way dialogue or character design alone couldn't.

Oof the adrenaline rush this theme gives me feels so nice! In all honesty I didn't care much for Pongorma in the first game. I couldn't really get a hold on his personality and his look wasn't inspiring to me either. Oh man did the sequel rectify that hard. His new design is awesome first of all. Additionally the details and this theme make his personality even in the first game pretty clear. Pongorma's polite and formal dialogue comes off like a loyal knight and his lightning gesture and theme really shows the aggression and fierceness a dark knight should have! A loyal well mannered person who loves fighting just to blast someone with as much gunpower as possible. Hell yeah!

I had to write something that exemplified that “wrestling entrance music” vibe.

I really wonder what Ideal Gibby shared with Pongorma to cause Pongorma to work for him. Maybe it had something to do with "if you work for me, i will give your life real meaning" or something along those lines, since every character up until then spoke in meaningless abstract words. And since Pongorma was presumably some sort of knight, he did have some form of loyalty to him.

tbh deafening myself with this because my family is too loud while im doing work is so good because honestly the OST and musican expansion for hylics 2 is fucking amazing (as is the OST for hylics 1) this game and its music will always hold a special little place in my neurodivergent brain as "the coolest game ive ever seen". Both Mason and Chuck are inspos for me in art, and just wanting to let out all the weirdness I can during creation. I'm happy hearing one song on Spotify lead me to this fucking amazing game

This song gives me a sense of nostalgia in a very weird way. I've had a friend who was very into Hylics but I was too stubborn to get more into it and when I have gotten more into it he was gone from the internet seemingly entirely, for a reason I still don't fully understand, so Hylics alone hold a sentimental value to me. The other reason is that this music oddly enough kinda reminds me of Bionicle with it's music from the commercials and other stuff. I think both of the Hylics games and their soundtracks have squeezed more emotions out of me than any other rpg/rpg maker games. Thank you Mason and Chuck.

If I could marry a song it would probably be this one

Whole track's a blast, but that "Finale" callback at 1:53 followed immediately by the mellow, distorted reflection of space and time itself before it goes back to the initial heavy beat lifts my soul into another realm... Also is it just me or do the guitars in this track specifically really sound like the OST to SMT: Digital Devil Saga?

ok so i have listened to this particular track DOZENS of times since its release, and im only JUST NOW NOTICING that the Finale motif is in here as well. considering the knowledge we have now wrt As The World Begins to Wane, i think that motif might be meant to imply that this is pongorma's final stand. like obvs everybody already knows abt the 8 billion battle motifs used for this song, but I've never seen anyone mention Finale. On that note, Chuck you sly son of a BITCH i just now ALSO noticed you snuck Draw a Dog in here as well.

Hahahahahah. Yeah, I had to. The finale motif is in there because pongorma is most likely musing about his inevitable end. His finale…and yet he is the one the brings the lives of his foes to an end in a regularly basis.

Yo Hylics 2 ost is pretty chill, this stands out so much while retaining the essense of the ost, i love it

All compositions are my playing/programming, aside from every second verse on each track, which I reserved for Mason. His addition of electronic instruments really flavored all of these tracks nicely, I’m so pleased with how interpreted each of these pieces!

I just finished Hylics 2 the other day after being obsessed with the OST for years, and just found these the other day and they are so fantastic. I love how this really plays into the feel of the Lightning move, it was always so satisfying to use ingame, and I love how it uses elements of Fancy Meat Computer as well (my favorite track in the game). Such a good piece of art.

Lol at the Draw A Dog LeMotif! The original had such a nauseating uneasiness that would just sit in your gut and fill it with dread. I'm glad someone recognized it's potential as an intimidating warcry! LMAO!
