    I really like this style of camo, I think I might adapt it to my 40K Imperial Guard's color scheme

    For the skeleton bone spray, would the Zandri Dust spray that GW sell be a suitable substitute or a bit too dark? Starting to get into Bolt Action from AoS and 40k and trying to think of the best way of painting the 2 Panthers I have.

  • @PeteTheWargamer

    @PeteTheWargamer

    Zimmerit was applied to tanks up until October 1944 when it was stopped partly due to unfounded fears that the paste could ignite when hit and also because it added days to production. I would say that October 1944 is late war :)

    Zimmerit was seen on tanks right up to the end ; it wasn't stripped off existing vehicles . Hell, its still on some tanks and the war ended nearly 80 years ago .

    Looks like a WH40K Imp Guard Tank. This mediocre weathering and overall looks way to clean. I think u cant paint WWII tanks and vehicles at all or even weather really good. go back to painting 40K bubble gum!

    LOL as always, u cant take any critics. im not the first person who tells u something like this. and always u start with troll and blablabla. fact is: ure not good at painting WWII....face it. because this Tiger II looks like a 40K tank. go watch videos of GeniPaint, or buy mig jiminez enzyclopedia to improve ur painting on WWII vehicles.

    I think you've missed the entire point of these videos which is odd because it's stated right there in the thumbnail, the description and I say it right at the beginning of the video. So either you're a troll and are just doing this for attention or you're just not very observant, in which case let me explain. These videos are for beginners, people without an airbrush and without specialist paints, again I'm pretty clear on that point. Both GeniPaint and Mig Jimenez do some great guides but they both use Airbrushes, pigments, filters and other products designed for weathering. Not everyone has access these items and it's a little arrogant of you to think that because these items aren't used then the results aren't 'good enough'. Yes, I concede that my results are not to the standard of the some of Mig Jimenez's examples but I never claim them to be. I produce these videos so that people have some painted tanks to use in their games of Bolt Action, that's it. You say I can't take any critics? I am more than happy to accept criticism when it is a valid and well thought out point of improvement. If I didn't then I wouldn't have been able to improve my channel and tutorials over the few years I've been doing this. However, complaining that I don't use an airbrush in a video specifically designed not to use an airbrush is not valid a criticism and is simply ignorance on your part. However, I am a reasonable man and if you can find me examples of other tutorials that tackle painting tanks of this scale just using an aerosol primer, acrylics, a bit of foam and some normal brush work and that look better than this then I will happily accept your 'criticism'.

    Okay, let me explain my point. First of all im not "trolling" or whatever u call it. Your tutorials in general are good and helpful, especially the 40K ones. Im not questioning ur skill as a painter or "artist" in general. Also, its a good thing to make videos for people who dont own tools like airbrush or special weathering products. On the other hand i think, you could make a difference in painting a WWII vehicle to painting a leman russ. i simply dont see this in your bolt action tank tutorials. most of them really look like some sort of 40K tanks. Saying not everyone has access to pigments etc. is simply wrong, cause everbody can order them. people have to buy colours anyway. where is the problem to introduce weathering products? why not introduce new techniques and material? more than weathering with a sponge and boltgun metal. Even going into detail about certain camo patterns, would add another note to a tutorial like this. it also could be transfered to 40K, where u make the most tutorials. it would encourage people to try out more and ur videos also woulld stand out from the standard 40K tank painting, which is really boring.

    That response was much clearer and also more constructive than your previous "I think u cant paint WWII tanks and vehicles at all or even weather really good. go back to painting 40K bubble gum!" In future I wouldn't lead with this kind of comment as it doesn't reflect on you well. So, let me address a couple of points that you made: First of all when I say 'don't have access to' I don't mean that they can't go online and order them, what I mean is that they don't have immediate access to these items in their current collection. I've found that a lot of people move from 40k and other wargames into Bolt Action so quite often their paint collection is pretty much just acrylics and washes. I avoid using anything outside of these items in these videos as I want to show that people don't need to go out and buy anything different in order to paint up their tank. Then, if people do wish to progress from there then they can get out the vast amount of tutorials and videos out there that already cover in depth weathering techniques and tips on airbrushing. Secondly, while I agree that showing people new techniques (such as using pigments) is a good idea I think it's something I'd rather tackle in a separate video and give people the option on weather or not they want to use them or not. But yeh I agree that bridging that gap between these kinds of videos and 40k is a good idea.
