Bolt Action project update | Revamping two old armies

Ойындар

Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and the first video of 2024 with a bit of a Bolt Action update! There hasn't really been a lot of Bolt Action content on the channel recently but I intend to remedy this with a lot more Bolt Action videos over the coming months.
I'm starting this with the revamp of two existing Bolt Action armies that have been seen on the channel many years ago. With the release of the new plastic early war French by Warlord Games, I have taken the opportunity to spruce up the existing support options for my French army before replacing the old metal infantry miniatures with the new plastic figures. It has been good to see these having a new lease of life and I'm really looking forward to making a start on the new plastic infantry.
In addition to my early war French, I am also tamking the opportunity to work on my Far East Australian army. After four years packed away in a box, they have all been getting an updated paint scheme and some better jungle basing.
In the video, I'll show you my progress on both projects so far!
If you liked the video, consider leaving a comment and subscribing, I always enjoy chatting to fellow gamers about the hobby.

    First time I've ever seen Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels represented in models. Love it! They deserve a lot more recognition for how much they helped us Aussies.

    It's a fantastic range by Warlord Games. Having not seen it for quite a few years. It has been really enjoyable giving the whole thing a bit of a makeover 😃👍

    Great job, Ste! Always glad to see the WW2 stuff. Absolutely brilliant 👏 👌. I think I'm going to follow Dom down the Rapid Fire Reloaded rabbit hole this year. I think I'm going to do Russians and Germans in 15mm. We shall see how it goes... I have never painted 15mm. If you want to buy stock in the plastic soldier company... might not be a bad idea. I'm about to pump a ton of money into them! Have a great weekend 👍

    Thansk Steve! It's been good getting back to WW2 recently and I still have lots of work to do on my 15mm and 20mm projects. The plan is to reorganise my 15mm so that it is all Chain of Command compliant. Rapid Fire Reloaded may need to be added to the list. Looking forward to seeing your progress with 15mm 😃👍

    Cheers Andy, much appreciated mate. I've found that it can be a little daunting giving already painted armies a makeover but it can definitely be worth. Lots of WW2 planned over the next few months....and in different scales too 😃👍

    Ahhh, the build an army days. That's how I got my French and Italians. The metal figs from that era were a bit on the small side. You've done a great job on your French! Love the native stretchers! A great little kit!

    Happy New Year Leslie, hope you're well. I think prone figures can definitely serve a purpose but I don't like them in my regular infantry sections. It would appear so! I'm currently giving my Stalingrad German project an updated and more consistent basing scheme 😃

    i'm starting a Bulge German army with 30 troops and 2 squads do you think two lmgs are worth it?

  • @OnPointHQ

    @OnPointHQ

    Apologies, I thought I had responded to this earlier. Whenever I run my German armies, I will always try and add two LMGs to my squads where I can. This is often cheaper than taking a medium machine gun team, with the buzzsaw rule you get more dice across two teams and you get increased manoeuvrability with them not being a single team weapon. Definitely worth taking two in my opinion 😃👍
