Always refreshing to see two good sports playing a game to win, but happy to discuss each other's plans and the rules. This was a brutal but fun watch looking forward to seeing the fight back from the ashes.

Thanks, we try to have a laugh, but still take the game slightly seriously. Hopefully the right combination for most
Fantastic terrain and board setup here guys I am slowly watching your old battle reports 1 by 1.

Some of those videos are pretty ropey quality if you are going right back to the beginning, but fun games mostly.
It didn’t effect the game, however transports being destroyed by enemy being closer is at the end of the turn, I believe

Yeah, true.
Great battle!!! ..a tough german battle line to break through. A successful preliminary bombardment would have helped with a few pins to keep the panther and Pak heads down.

Yeah, definitely a tough game for John, the great thing about campaigns is lop-sided battles which you have to try to win.
Kaiser setup Johnny, didn't stand a chance. Especially with the failed bombardment ROLL.

Being a campaign mission it can be horribly one-sided.
I can’t help thinking that using some smoke would’ve helped the attack. Tough job for the attacker moving onto the table straight into sight of the defender.

Well yeah, but that's the game for you.
Once again totally incredible gentlemen

Thanks Josh. Glad you enjoyed it.
Fun game gents as per usual - 1000 points each on a 4x4 table cut down on the attacking options for Jonny B in terms of space to manoeuvre, but then again with his dice rolls he'd have struggled on a 12x6 table! Interesting to see what this does on the campaign map.

Dice Gods hated him that day for sure.
Ooow! Cracking game. When the British artillery hit the Panther I thought JB was going to pull it out of the bag but great recovery from the Bosch. 👍

@@ModellingforAdvantage When/if that ever happens I would like to play a game or three with you all and have a few pints.
That "on fire" marker with the led light is really neat! where did you get it? :)

Jonny B made it with a tea light and some smoke fluff
Brilliant game.

Thanks guys.
Also I can’t help but think you need to be playing with a glass of single malt each. Much more of the generals kind of feel to it then.

Ah too true sir
Awesome game thankyou guys. Where did you get your terrain?
@ModellingforAdvantage
Жыл бұрын
Mixture of places, board itself is hand built as are some of the pieces - the trees are cheap ones that we sprayed and re-flocked as well as cut some branches off.
fun as usual. question where are the trees and roads from
@ModellingforAdvantage
Жыл бұрын
Roads from a chap in the UK on eBay. Trees are pretty old cheap ones from China, but they have been painted and re-flocked as well as having some branches clipped off to remove uniform feel
You love to see it. I'll be that annoying rules guy in the comments but I think you can't run through light terrain like the Hedges. Dunno if you guys play that or not.

Yeah, that's true, did we actually do that at some point?

@@ModellingforAdvantage cheeky house rule to say you can.
I think the British player should have conceded the game after turn 1 or 2. There was never any chance in obtaining ANY of the objectives with the setup the way it was done. To be honest this did not appear to be a particularly well balanced game, driving onto the board into the teeth of a dug in German Panther, Pak 40 and Puma......

This is a campaign game, so the battle was not balanced. The British only had armour available on the campaign map, whereas the German force was mixed. It is an inevitable consequence of a campaign - you get imbalanced games which you still have to try and make the best of.

@@ModellingforAdvantage ahh, that makes a bit more sense now. What period of 1944 NW Europe did you base your campaign on ?
