@@ModellingforAdvantage I've been reluctant to start a British force because I hate the armies without the guns attached to the arms. Because of that the only British I have currently are commandos. I'm excited to get some good infantry. (Now they need to do the same thing to the Soviet armies.)

Nice Happy with my new British infantry boxed set, I think I'll be doing them as Canadians eventually. But I am fickle, so who knows what I'll decide! The whole starter box is an excellent deal though, well worth picking up if late war is your thing.

Look like a nice kit! I am just wondering why they put a Churchill tank instead of a Sherman V in a starter kit supposed to be for the Canadians. Canada did not use a lot of Churhill and only between the Dieppe raid of August 1942 until somewhere in 1943 when the Churchills in Canadian service were returned to the British I believe

The only problem I can see with the new sprue is the lack of Thompson’s for Canadians who used it while the British used the sten

Except they did. The Thompson was replaced with the Sten for most all users for D-Day and beyond in the Western European theater. The Thompson was used widely by Canadians during the Italian campaign, however. So, there is a case for models with either weapon.

  • @ModellingforAdvantage

Most remaining museum examples all have 'custom' jobs on them, slight field changes to suit the particular user. I think there was a lot of variation. As a tow, not seen many photos with trailers, but definitely some. Maybe it was another carrier that was used as a tow, the lloyd perhaps?
