I've been playing Bolt Action for 2 years now, and I still want this starter set! I already picked up my 2nd edition rulebook and set of templates but who wouldn't want two sets of templates and a smaller easier book to carry around? The miniatures are SPOT ON, I love them.

best two player set for miniatures out there? ..this is killing it!

So many Wargames I have collected, so many more to go. I need more disposable income!

I am so very excited for my own Band of Brothers box to arrive.

Great video guys,really informative,I pre-ordered this set along with an American half track,Sherman & panzer IV & am eagerly awaiting its arrival! It should add in nicely to my BA 1 starter set to make a nice armoured section! More terrain too! I feel a private Ryan themed scenario afoot!

if you want a cheap alternative, go for flames of war/ team yankee. They are smaller scale but still really cool for less money

are you mixing "standard" Bolt Action in or playing " hmm what to call it.., PURIST KONFLICT 47 if you will? Im buuying /painting/playing Bolt Action with a "sprinkle" of K-'47 because...Nazi Zombies. Were-minis look pretty sweet too. I don't care for the spider walker looking unit the germans got for Konflict but hey that imo. I just can't imagine it not sinking into everything but very hard surfaces, BUT the Germans get the tank-like unit which beats the hell out of the US "tank with blue laz0rs" which I could only see fielding with a very different paintjob! All that said were my fund unlimited I would have a table for Hail Caesar and one for Bolt Action, each set up all the time. Love their tanks too and think I'l stick with them instead of going with slightly larger and more detailed models as many are doing. I'm used to GW and "get" heroic scale. Not only "get" but very much like , in fact. Ok- actuallly just saw the funky US tak for /47 that looks cool. I just hated the blue I saw on the techy barrel for lack of better terminology. Get going and help spread to friends through "Gateway games" (like X-Wing) Spread the hobby!

The greatest thing with Konflikt is you can actually use all your standard BA figures with it and just pick up the Konflikt mini's you want. The walkers is actually what got me for Konflikt, the genetics troops are meh for me but the glorious thing about this game is you can field exactly what you want. The tesla tech fits very well with America in that time and what would be expected I think.

Pffft. I've already got Gundam Models and Dust Quad walkers on the table and am working on crazy two-fisted pulpy quasi-superhero partisan forces w/ PIAT motorbikes and crazy home-made portee truck things. And I have a British tank that fires "enzyme" rounds that essentially keep attacking a tank for several rounds after it is hit often forcing the crew out as the pins build up. Home brew is go!

Very very new to this type of gaming, would love to see a video on how to construct and paint these figurines!

Is the upgrade sprue for the Half track available by itself? Also, the template and pin marker sprues? Other than the new rulebook and US forces, its the same box from the last one.

ANSWERED MY OWN QUERY: YOU DO GET THE BOOK :" A5 Softback Bolt Action 2 Rules Book" AS WELL AS A "Quick Reference Guide " - (very nice to have as you guys said. ) WOW--- even more value in this set. I had the book *though hardcover with linited mini" in my cart but I'll be going with the softback that comes with kit - if it falls apart I wont feel bad buying the hardcover since the value is so good - especially for what I was looking for as far as Bolt Action . Thanks again and hope I helped clear that up.

Strange that they didn't include the "grease gun" in the kit (if they did and I missed it then disregard this), since this is supposed to be around Operation Market Garden time when the grease gun really started to see a decent amount of issuing. (not that it would ever significantly replace the Thompson during the war)

I inherited the 1st gen Bolt Action with all the army books and two of the scenario books. I bought the 2nd edition book and one of my sons and I have played both exclusively, but honestly have picked the rules that not necessarily make it easier, but make sense. I honestly HATE the artillery templates. Once party goes off scrapnel is addressed "to whom it may concern". The original die rolls randomized that perfectly.

I'm confused by the new shiny plastic term. Help me out!

I know this is 3 months late, and yes, this is the only up to date starter kit. Also, the booklet it comes with shows you exactly how to set up your armies.

Something they didn't mention in the video is that the booklet (I got two with mine) tells you exactly how to assemble your forces so you don't even need the unit charts. Those charts are there for experienced players I guess. So if you know nothing about Bolt Action or wargames at all, you can build both sides without looking at the charts or checking with the rulebook that everything is ok. Just throw the charts to the paper bin and build your forces as stated in the booklet. How cool is that. I hope nobody starts building their forces with the charts and then realize they run out of guys to accomplish anything useful. The one thing I didn't like was the size of the rulebook. I wasn't expecting one that short and thick. I find it a bit uneasy to use and read.

Shame they did not make a lying down German MG42 Gunner pose. Looks great this starter set.

Can the Band of Brother scenario rule book be bought alone?

That would be an even more amazing value if this is the case. i know with the Hail Caesar Conquest of Gaul Set (crazy good deal) they do INDEED include the Hardback full Rules book. Something like a $40=$50 value. When bought alone the book comes with an exclusive mini. i found the airborne models a little riggid.

Too small for me.

Why do Warlord Games always mess up their plastic figure sets by not giving enough left arms....many of the poses are very limited from many of the sets through it and they become nothing like multi-pose figures. The latest American GI plastic set is a prime example...lovely miniatures set ruined by not enough left arms

I feel weird about the host challenging the guest on what he was saying, the purpose of the video is to sell their product. Having said that, it's cool that he isn't afraid to offer criticism I guess?
