Bologna is one of our favorite Italian cities. It often gets overlooked. It’s in the middle of Florence, Venice, and Milan. It’s a terrific city though. So much history. It is definitely lower key than those other three cities while still having everything you want in a major Italian city. We got to visit La Confraternita Dell’uva, a book shop named after grandfather’s book of the same name. In English it is Brotherhood of the Grape. Giorgio, the owner, read one of my grandfather’s other books, Ask the Dust, as a young man and it changed the direction of his life. #bologna #italy #johnfante #europe #familytravel #homeschooling
