Good Project and it is commendable for practically implemented: being professional engineer in the same field, few corrections, as Bolan is with 797cc Engine, I am using it, the tuned vehicle is giving average of 14KM/L. The conversion cost is high. It is good and wise to convert old old Bolan only. while if you are having a better maintained Bolan giving 12 to 14 KM/L which is better to be used instead of million Rs investment that money can be used for whole life of vehicle as fuel bill.

Yes, agree. Someone who can afford to spend 3 million can switch directly to a hybrid vehicle. Practically it can be a fun convertion for a vehicle like mark x, Prado or some other gas guzzling vehicles but not for an economy sector vehicle. Means spending 3 million to convert a Bolan, mehran, Khyber, old alto or some cheap vehicle is not viable unless done for fun.

3 million for Bolan conversion. 😮 it doesn't look feasible. 1.8 Million Bolan price+ 3 Million conversion cost. Total= 4.8 million. Simply buy Wagon R which easily gives 22 km/lit. While resale is good as well.

200km x 2000cycles= 400000km If we presume fuel price Rs.300 And fuel average of bolan to be 12km/pl It will consume Rs.1 crore in fuel for 4lac kms. Whereas, if a person is charging battery on daily basis then it will take approx 5 years to deplete and the cost of batteries will be around 20lac and the cost of ev is 1/3rd of fuel so 33lac, in total a person can save approximately 50lac in 5 years if the running of vehicle is 200km per day. Plus he can save oil service cost of approx 4lac. If we assume running cost of 1 rupee per km.

You will be able to save around 5 lac rupees pr 10 year comparing to a normal petrol bolan which is not that much inpressive for anyone to switch to an electric car these calculation are beside from the maintenance of the electic car if you include it too then it will cost you more expensive then a petrol card here the line of suneel sir suits perfectly "Penny wise pound foolish"

some thoughts/corrections 1. Lithium ion Phosphate battery is not one the most expensive its cheaper as not using cobalt 2. Bulk cell price in international market is sub $100/kwh ( taking dollar at today's rate 280*100 * 20 cell price comes to Rs560,000) which is very economical even if you add 50% overhead for pack assembly electronics etc shouldn't be more than Rs750,000 which easily bring BOM ( Bill of materials ) cost for for whole car from scratch to Rs1 - 1.2 million range 3.As prof mentioned biggest issue is not having localization

Project is very good but the cost is very high, and that too after sometime you have to change battery costing 10 to 12 lakhs which will be same as if driven on fuel, bolan does not give 10 avg its 800cc its avg is around 14km/L so it is not worth it, but still thats a verygood project, appreciated.

Great effort, battery could have been distributed in 2 parts for better weight distribution and better heat control as van is rear wheel drive, some weight put on the back seat will better the performance as current prototype is bit tilted towards front and overall a great effort

It is really sad to see the original innovators are not even mentioned or given credit for the hard work they have put in. Very unprofessional haq marna system of Pakistan where the older generation are taking credit for the talented young individuals. This results in talented youngsters leaving the country and going abroad to get the appreciation they deserve.

The owner is VERY much aware of the technologies used behind the LCD. He should make a dedicated video explaining the communication between BMS and microcontroller. I always wanted these things happening in Pakistan.

you can add a solar panel sheet on the top which will charge the batteries for free along with small gasoline engine
