It won't be quite the same experience playing on an emulator as playing them on the original cartridges (which are quite expensive nowadays as collectors' items), as the whole gimmick and selling point was that you had to physically go outside at certain times to charge your weapon with sunlight (and, in tandem, charge your body with Vitamin D). But it's still great; the influences of Spaghetti Westerns (the protagonist is literally a gunslinger named "Django," plus you can hear the very Dollars Trilogy esque vocals even in this song), Norse Mythology (many of the antagonists are named after Norse deities), and traditional JRPG elements (item shops, weapon/armor customization, an excellent crafting system) all actually work together. It really is one of Hideo Kojima's much more sleeper hits, overshadowed by Metal Gear Solid.

Yaknow im sure people talk about how much games mean to them all the time but for me idk whenever i cant change something or do somwthing i always remember that damn line about sunflowers and get on with it. Maybe that was the point of this game and the idea kojima had in mind.

It's so good to hear a Boktai remix all the way in 2021, and your remixes are always great! Makes sense you'd like this game, I was introduced to it through Megaman as well.

I only know about this guy because of the Battle Network series but it looks real cool. This music sounds cool too.

wow, that hit me back home of my time playing this game, Boktai 2 and Lunar Knights, you know it just sad that "Konami" and "Capcom" won't just port the GBA games into the Switch than I would at least played "Boktai 3" (the game that never got a release to America)

It be really cool but it be nearly impossible to translate the solar sensor into a switch and if they are able to do it im sure even if he's not working there Kojima will have to allow it cause he did create it. I think he owns the ip

I really enjoyed the Crossovers this series had with Battle Network and still have my copy of lunar Knights. It's a shame lunar Knights never got a sequel, so many unanswered questions. it was a pretty cool game

It really is a shame. I dont think it sold alot here in the us let alone Japan but if it did sold alot maybe Kojima just didnt want to work on it anymore or just didnt know what to do for a sequel

I'd love to see more of these from you - my personal favorites from Boktai 2 were always the Durathror boss theme and White Hill, though I'm sure to enjoy pretty much anything you choose. Thanks for sharing your music with all of us. It's kept me company on a lot of very long drives.

Ah yes, my favorite Boktai game, I also liked how plenty of the music tracks in 2 had parts of Django's leitmotif in it, though you first hear it on the title screen before starting the game, hoh.

Those moments when I think of a remaster / remake of the boktai series including the boktai ds / lunar knights this series marked me in such a way that no other has managed in all respects to zero the game again and again to get the weapons from the azure sky tower, without wanting to discover that there is a curse called kaamos, see that if you keep looking at the solar tree at dawn you see the star battery falling from the sky, see that killing the boss on top of the azure sky tower you win the battery infinite, that kind of thing made me love this game with all my strength and being easily one of the games that will always be in my memory.

It's hard to replicate the Uv sensor of the cartridge, and also hard to play outside, the screen gets darkened and it can't be seen anything

I wish it would be but highly unlikely. They'd have to re work it completely to use the solar system. As well as Kojima allowing it. I believe he owns the ip.

Fun fact for the battle network people. Django is only in megaman cause Kojima's son loved the battle network games so he went out of his way to get a crossover in bn 4-6 as well with star force with luna knights. Sadly the star force and bn 6 crossover is Japanese exclusives
