I agree as i have seen it in Germany,, you cannot simply discard them, you have to get them in your side thats how it is played .. (maybe for an easier version of the game, you are free to discard them)

guy, I got this game yesterday and have read the rules, they are a bit different. For example, as I understood, you cannot exchange or donate your first card (in phase 1), that you OBLIGATORY must plant. That means, if you haven't worried about it in previous steps, you have no other way but plant it. And, when you are taking 2 cards from the deck, if no one agree to exchange with you, you MUST get them both, no right to discard. Sorry if I get wrong, and correct me someone, if it is so.

These are not the correct rules. You should consider taking this video off for not to confuse new players trying to learn the game.

Rules violation at 1:50. You cannot "simply discard" any of the two cards that you flip. If you cannot trade them off, you must plant them in one of your fields. You are responsible for the cards flipped. This often leads to interesting situations. In the example you have two options: Make a deal with another player, who is willing to either: - give something in return for the coffee bean OR - accept the coffee bean for free OR - accept the coffee bean along with more cards from your hand Why would you give anyone a card to take the coffee bean? If that's what it takes to get rid of it, that could be worth it. You could plant it yourself, if: - you could have more players give you their coffee beans - you could ruin somebody's coffee monopoly - you could trash your coffee crop with no i come, as long as you get at least one more coffee bean installed

Rules violation at 2:30. You could not "just discard" the Chili bean. The rules clearly state that you are not allowed to harvest any single cards, unless you only have single cards planted. That means you have to be more careful about planting single cards. In general, you must be more willing to trade. Then there is a good chance that your Chili won't stay single for too long. If this rule did not exist, it would be too easy to gather large quantities of the same bean, and players would have fewer incentives to trade.

We've adapted Bohnanza to be more cooperative in playing style, but still competitive. I think it's a ton more fun! I'll create a video response of it here.

yes, that's it. There are many variations of rules for this game. So, it is up to player to decide, which way he wanna play the game :)

One thing I did learn from this video is that you don't HAVE to keep and plant the 2 cards flipped in Step 2 of your turn. Thanks! Two things incorrect in your video, though. (1) You cannot harvest a 1-bean field if the other field has 2 or more beans. You must harvest the 2 or more bean field. (2) In Step 1 of your turn, you cannot trade your cards yet. YOU MUST plant the 1st card. Trading is reserved for Step 2 of your turn.

Why not read the rule book? The rules are different for different amounts of players.
