@@robroilen4441that is extremely inaccurate. The planes crashed due to a faulty angle of attack sensor that triggered MCAS, a software system on the 737 MAX planes that Boeing deliberately obfuscated the existence of in order to make the plane more commercially viable, to nosedive the plane. Even after Boeing acknowledged the existence of MCAS and instructed pilots how to respond should it malfunction, a pilot who had it happen and followed Boeing’s new instructions exactly still had the plane continue to malfunction. This was all confirmed via the flight data recorder.

Consulting firm McKinsey must pay $642 million to resolve civil opioid-related litigation against the firm so they avoid prison and any wrongdoing. USA has quite uniquely depraved justice system.
So who is going to prison?
Isn't 3 years to get your house up to speed with safety alot can go wrong in 3 years
2:50 Absolutely ridiculous. So they'll be eligible to receive a "waiver" to continue doing business as usual and securing contracts, DESPITE the felony fraud conviction. In essence, the government is allowing a felon to continue to work with some of our most top secret defense companies which ensure our national security. I'm speechless. Also, the fact that since only the company gets charged for the felon conviction, not a single person at Boeing is being charged or held accountable. What a precedent to set for other large corporations in America in sensitive industries (such as citizen transportation). So basically, it's a win/win for the government AND Boeing since the govt is receiving $250 million in fines from Boeing which it will then allow Boeing to recoup anyway via these exception waivers. These "waivers" will allow Boeing to secure multi million dollar contracts with our private defense companies and more than make up for the money they paid in fines. The whole thing is laughable. The govt is definitely in bed with Boeing seeing as how this plea deal was meticulously crafted to be mutually beneficial for both parties. Clearly, the only people paying the punishment of Boeing's severe failures is the families of the victims.
How much of those fines are covered by Insurance?
In America, "all corporations are created equal,” and of course a “government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations.” Screw the people.
Big win for Boeing. Government contracts will continue with waivers, because the .mil needs it and Boeing builds it.
Criminal CEO's..they got away as always
Has anyone else shared this?

Will any Boeing executive go to prison? Or are the widows and orphans who own Boeing equity are the only who pay the cost of the felony conviction?
Millions? With hundreds killed? These are hundreds of people who will never come back, who've had their lives, their dreams, their hopes, their passions, cut short because somebody tried to take shortcuts and Boeing refused to stick to the quality that is necessary for commercial aircraft. We should be talking about billions, and prison time. This doesn't make any sense because of any of us in this comment section did something like this, we'd probably be sitting on death row

The NTSB's Docket on Lion Air 610 documents in great detail how the decision to not specifically include the acronym "MCAS" in the manual was made. The pilots of the Ethiopian and Indonesian planes would have crashed whether or not MCAS was present, since they did not fundamentally understand how to fly the planes.

Corporations are people. Who's going to jail? Nobody? Then it will keep happening.
So much corruption.
Just keeps getting worse and worse for Boeing. It's what happens with a sh*tty group of Marketing Major types who do not belong leading a company that provides services in which human lives should be the first and foremost consideration. I dropped out of Engineering school, but duty of care was drilled into us in first and second-year engineering design courses. It's the same in many other technical fields, the medical profession being one of the most prominent. This is what happens when you have people with questionable (purely just money-driven) morals which leads to a company with questionable ethics taking leadership in a company where upper management should really consist predominantly of people from a technical background who understand the gravity of what cutting corners might lead to. Boeing will have to make some MOUMENTAL changes to it's leadership board to restore faith but as it stands, at least for me it's not looking good. If there was a way to determine or find out, I will avoid booking flights if I know the carrier is utilizing Boeing's services. This is crazy. Heads need to roll, smdh.
