Boeing 777 Autopilot Landing Cockpit View [Zero Visibility]
Ever wanted to see what the pilot see's during zero visibility on landing? This is a Boeing Triple 7 performing an auto landing (autopilot on) cockpit view so you can see what the pilot see's. Enjoy this great clip. Shoutout to LockheedStarliner for sharing this incredible footage.

That is absolute faith in your instruments! Nice job!
Ultimate example of trusting your instruments

I love the technology pilots have.
This as an awesome feature and all pilots would LIKE to have this on their planes
That is impressive.
Awesome 👌
Well done
Awesome
777's are great - I heard a joke from a 777 pilot Who said that only one actual pilot is required... The co pilot is a large dog... His job is to bite the hands of the pilot if he reaches for any controls during any part of the flight.

But what happens when they do need to land the plane without some of those automations? Pilots becoming complacent because of technology is a very real problem.

@moshunit96 Don't worry- most pilots are awesome. Just like most planes 🤣
Nice job
That took balls!!!

I work on Pilot boats and have all the gear for fog! But that is just crazy
I don't know if I would take it beyond minimums. That was gutsy! 😊

Going below minimums is certainly not gutsy. Its incredibly foolish and dangerous. But this was not below minimums. It seems they were running a cat3c approach, though the weather was good enough for a cat2. There are no minimums for a cat3c approach. It can be flown in 0 visibility and no ceiling.

@@tylerfb1 Actually, there is a minimum for cat 3 and it is 75 meters or 300 feet visibilty. There is no cat 3 with mins of 0 visibility. However. Don't have to see anything. Just need the reported vis.
WOW!
Amazing
Amazing instruments
Crazy how when pilots deviate from their instruments, something usually goes very wrong. TRUST THEM.

My butt was puckered and I'm just watching it on video.
God bless the USA! This is a perfect demonstration of having full confidence in all of that over engineering!! What an amazing country this! It’s chock-full of brave entrepreneurs and inventors that didn’t take no for an answer who made it all possible for the rest of us enjoy! ❤
I'd like to know what airline sets their minimums to 100 feet or less. I've never herd of it being less than 3-5. For those non pilots if you do not have runway visual by the minimums you must go around and or divert pending on attemps and fuel.

I thought I heard the Pilot Monitoring call out “approach lights in sight.” He had a visual reference before decision height

Agree with others. Pretty much all part 121 operators (all large passenger airlines) are able to operate in 0/0 conditions which are cat3c approach criteria. This weather was good enough for cat2, but it seems the airplane was set for cat3c.
Hail Mary landing.... "Dave Calhoun take the wheel!"
Definitely not zero vis. He called approach lights at 300 feet. Thats' a cat 1 ILS. could have hand flown it easily.

What were minimums?
Not even close to zero vis. That was actually a Cat II approach
Why do pilots use landing lights during zero zero landings?
Wow. The old Hawker Siddley Trident could do that in 1967.
Practice makes perfect?
That wasn't zero visibility, they broke out at 100ft and had at least 1/2-3/4miles visibility.
This is worse than walking around in a steam room
Nice bit of IFR there.

Honestly, isn't it better to divert to an airport with better visibility? To me it looks like an accident waiting to happen. Canary islands anyone?
Zero visibility? Really? I don’t think so Tim
@treylem3

Dude, really? When visibility is @ 100 ft., it's fair to call that "zero disability". It's less than 'minimums' for any other type of approach.

@@treylem3 not sure who you’re calling “dude”, but zero means zero. You’re probably familiar with LVP/and LVO operations? I have done plenty of CAT3B approaches, never a CAT3C. This isn’t a zero visibility approach. Good day!
