My family and I sat on a plane in Florida for almost 45 minutes because the captain, nor the co-pilot had showed up. I'm assuming their golf game ran a bit later than usual or maybe they wanted to have a cocktail before flying...who knows. (dont say anything...it's happened and you know it). Everyone was sweating, it was 8 pm in the evening and these two finally board the plane. Everyone starts clapping and several people were saying things "its about time, or finally." One british dude actually yelled out "where the bloody hell have you been?" It was not long afterwards that a very friendly voice came over the intercom, introducing himself and he promptly said, "everyone make sure your seatbelts are fastened tight, cuz we're going to fly it like we stole it." This was a Delta flight for anyone thats curious. The entire plane erupted with laughter. It was great. Had a wonderful flight, but we sure deserved it.

As you know, takeoff on JFK’s 31L also has a steep left turn after takeoff for noise abatement. The first time I was on one of those flights, I said, “You had the whole Atlantic Ocean to sneak over to the left; you had to turn us upside-down 100 feet off the ground??” 😂😂

@@mta224 No. Canarsie (in Brooklyn) is the name of the approach to runway 13L. Runway 31L departures begin at 314 degrees, with almost immediate turns to 237, 183, 172, pretty tight turns after takeoff. The departure route doesn’t overfly Brooklyn at all, so it not related to Canarsie in any way.

My nephew took me up flying in a four seater Cessna. Any time we banked I was waiting for the door to open and me to slide out.
Hi Captain. Loved seeing what you see as you fly down the runway. The hum of the engines after takeoff…amazing. Beautiful, snowy wonderland beneath you…awesome left turn…wow…loved it ❤️😊
I was in the jump seat when a 747 we had in test took off out of Glasgow Montana in a heavy snowstorm. It was really cool as was breaking into the sunlight. Beautiful. Also a 747 is a great snowblower. It's how we kept the ramp clear of snow and ice. Fun times.
Always blows me away how slow the takeoff roll appears from the runway visual. Its not till you look at the buildings along side that you see the actual speed. Beautiful landscape!!!!!!!!!!

Funny I was thinking the same thing as I was watching
nice views . stunning .. love the 747 .. my father used to do the wiring in them in the 70's for boeing .. my mother also worked for Boeing (service bulletins) and i worked for a sub contractor in Washington state
I lived on the flight path just four miles from Dublin Airport . We saw the original jumbos flying over most days. An amazing sight and sound. We used to run into the garden to watch them.
Like sitting in the family SUV, starting down the highway, changing to a formula1 race car, lifting TONS of aircraft off the ground and shooting skywards! The beauty of flight NEVER ceases to amaze me!✈️💕🇨🇦
A lovely video thank you Captain, loved seeing the snowy scenes and the sun shining! ❤✈️🌞
Oh my gracious, beautiful take off & view!. Love the engines revving
Something of that size shouldn't be that graceful but somehow it is. Well done gentleman!

Enjoyed it immensly as always ! good day, Captain
TY for sharing. I have many fond memories (as a passenger) of my Transatlantic flights aboard Boeing's 747. Happy times...
Sorry to hear that your heart stopped. Will you be in recovery long?
My Heart Rate Picked Up JUST WATCHING RUN-UP TO TAKE-OFF !!! I * LOVE* THAAATTT ! ! ! THE POWER & THE GRACE OF IT ALLLLL . . . . ! ! ! 💪💪💪👍👍👍
Beautiful takeoff and great video as always, captain! Hope you had a safe flight! Sun above and the snow below look so good!!
What a Beauty ! I Love You Guys 👍😎👍A salute !

Their flight was late ….. how else do you think pilots get to the airport ?

Something tells me there's some exaggeration going on here. Passengers are not allowed to board a plane until the flight crew is on board.

Hi Dave-isn't that the Canarsie departure?Great vid here on that with the Concorde.
@wotan10950

@@wotan10950 That's nothing compared to the old stadium approach into runway 31 at LGA. In a 767on a windy day, you can hear some passengers start to scream. Today's approach is easy. Too bad they changed it.
Awesome video, well done! Would you be okay with me featuring this takeoff in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!

Stunning capture! And amazing that the camera was able to expose in a way that both the instrument panel and the runway was perfectly exposed.
Absolutely beautiful!! Don't know where you were, but the sights were amazing!!❄❄ Awesome roll out to take off!! Finally got to see what is meant by '30 second run up' -- as I hear that a lot on PANC flights. Now I actually got to experience it -- with the best crew!! Impressive heading turn by FO! Excellent teamwork!! Thanks for sharing part of your day with all of us!! Stay safe out/up there!! Blessings and cheers -- ALWAYS!! 💕✈✈💕

The snow…beautiful! Stay safe Captain
Superb camerawork. Really captures the dynamism of the cockpit
What makes this turn so awesome is that it's done with a 747, if it was a Gulfstream G550 that would be just another hard left bank...thanks for sharing this great video with us all, best to you always...👍👍✈
Jeez it was a NORMAL 30 degree bank turn....get over it.
Can never understand why some pilots have such a vertical takeoff and sharp turns?? Adding 10 seconds to takeoff and turns smooths the flight out so much more and new passengers arent nervous.
Those dramatic throttle handoff's are pretty funny. Long live the 747.
Always so amazing to lift off. Such a great video.
Beautiful, especially the sun through the windshield! It reminds of one of my favorite scenes from The Empire Strikes Back: the Millennium Falcon entering Cloud City.
Thank you for sharing your flight here.
god I love the 747, especially the 400...
It’s amazing these machines fly
Well that looked straightforward. …. I could do that !! Beautiful… great video ❤❤👍
Hardly heart stopping .... But beautiful Thank you
Thanks for sharing the video Captain!
So awesome ❤. I love hearing the engines of this beauty.
So cool!!!! Can’t wait to start my endeavor as a pilot. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Beautiful takeoff and climbout, but nothing heart-stopping about it. It was a perfectly normal climb and left turn.
I remember a couple test flights on VC-25A in the winter of ‘91 where our captain yanked her off the ground. With the four CFM56’s, our takeoff roll was very short. But then again, there were only the flight crew and about 10 flight test engineers onboard, so it was a “hotrod”.
