Though the video was speeded up, pilot did not stop at the hold line before getting on the rwy... Is this normal?

Pepe Carrillo Yes, the 737-800 took off when the 747 approaches the hold line .. But, this runway is actually only used for takeoffs, so there wasn't incoming traffic. The runway was clear so he could line up.. but this fast line up hasn't an advantage.. the 747 has to wait around a minute because of the strong jet blast. It's just what pilots prefer, waiting on the taxiway or on the runway!
