I was an avionics tech for 20 years and work on that unit a lot. The led that you refer is a valid red or black indicator, meaning for line service reference if is shows red mean three is a potencial issue with the electronics, if black all circuits and gyroscope working at nominal parameters.thanks for the video, brought a lot of memories 👍

I love how a French is disassembling a Boeing plane component... it makes it feel a lot like a James Bond movie where they're discovering secret enemy technology... 😂 Jokes aside, great video, very interesting!

This thing is far more expensive than a new car. Top engineering and construction.

Génial! As-tu déjà essayé de les alimenter pour voir si ils fonctionnent encore(même simplement le moteur du gyro)?

Just watched your other gyro videos which led me here, did you ever power this gyro? I would love to see this on running... Thanks for the great content

I cant wait to see it, I wonder if it spins up as fast as the smaller ones? Could be quite scary.

Thank you for the video! How does the red thing that senses shock work?

Here is the manufacturer website shockwatch.com/products/impact-and-tilt/impact-indicators They do not really say how it works, it must be a deal of glass tubes filled with liquids.

they are glass tubes filled with a white powder. Inside this powder is a very thin glass tube filled with red liquid. If you shake it too hard or hit it with something, the inner tube breaks and the liquid leaks into the powder. Then you will see red from the outside.

That's a good one! funny though the boards almost look like the Russian electronics, lots of brown!

The metal tabs could be indicators of excessive G-force. They bend up or down depending on the direction of the shock.

How old is this model? It looks like an antique in today's world of modern solid state (and non mechanical) electronics! I would not want to be the one that builds and wires it up!
