Bodycam DUI Arrest - 19-Year-Old Slips Out of Handcuffs and Chugs a White Claw in the Police Car

16:14 If you only have time to watch 4 minutes of KZread today, this should be the 4 minutes you watch!
On August 26, 2023, the mother of a 19-year-old woman called the police because she was concerned her daughter might be consuming alcohol and driving. Strongsville Patrolman Glover located the 19-year-old and initiated a traffic stop. The woman initially denied consuming any alcohol or illegal substances. In order to confirm this, Patrolman Glover asked the woman to submit to a portable breath test (PBT), which she agreed to. However, his PBT is not working, so he subjects the woman to field sobriety exercises. It appears that he is about to release the woman when he notices a "substance" on the front seat of her vehicle. She is detained, handcuffed, and placed in the back of the police car. What happens next is about as incredible as it gets. On camera, she slips out of the handcuffs, pulls out a White Claw from who knows where, and chugs it like a veteran alcoholic. She then takes a hit off of her vape for good measure. She shoves the empty White Claw can down the front of her pants and makes it known to Patrolman Glover that her handcuff came off. Patrolman Glover still doesn't adequately search her because the empty can is not discovered until she arrives at the jail. She submits to an evidential breath test at the jail and the result is 0.219% BAC. Despite all of this, Patrolman Glover takes her outside of the jail to take a hit from her vape again. Her charges and the incredibly lenient outcome are discussed at the end of the video.

Ive seen two cases (1 with a police officer) who actually got out of the dui because they drank AFTER they were pulled over so the courts couldn’t prove they were drinking before driving. It sounds crazy but I’ve seen two videos of this happening. I think that is why they have that 15-20-30 minute rule where the suspect can’t have anything in their mouth before the test at the police station

If she was in her car & after stop started drinking they can not prove how drunk she was when driving. That is an old trick that everybody used to do. However now states say you can not have an open container in your car. That is an automatic DUI to stop that from happening. But she is under 21 so her legal limit is .02. But i dont know how this is going to work in court when she downed a drink in the back of the cop car.

@@maxbates1305you can’t drink under 21 federally in the US in most states either, unless your parents are specifically present and its on their private property. “In 45 states, laws allow underage drinking in certain situations. In 29 states, someone under 21 may drink with their parent's permission if it's in a private residence or on private property. Six states allow someone under 21 to drink on private property without their parent's consent.” The laws play fast and loose with rules. An officer can chastise and critique, but the laws about Vapes and Cigarettes just jumped federally to 21, state by state can still be different though. For example, California also has a law on the books that if you’re 18 and in active military service, you can buy and consume tobacco and vape products. (I’m not saying the 19 year old here is, but it’s something to also consider when making a comment like this)

@@redwayjay6830but it's not her spouse. It's a b.f. she's been dating a short time. Based off her behavior he's either just as bad as her or will end up kicking her right back out. Speaking from personal experience with mental health issues as well...I moved in with a boyfriend at 18 to get away from my mom. He was on drugs which didn't help considering I already had a curiosity for drugs. When I was no longer appealing to him it was back to the streets which resulted in meeting another guy and moving in with him and the cycle repeated itself until getting into a long term super unhealthy drug using relationship that resulted in me being physically and mentally abused. And when I did finally get my own place and try to get away from him I was stabbed 3 times collapsing my lung. The girl already has low self esteem hence the substance abuse. No "good guy" is gonna tolerate that shit. She's only gonna end up with people similar to her self and let's be real the girls a narcissist and a handful . Getting her own place will give her responsibilities and not cause her to be co-dependent on a man for a place to live. Obviously just because it happened to me doesn't necessarily mean the same will happen to her but all the signs are there and she's heading down a really bad path.

I took it like a man because I knew I fawked up but thats how I was raised, to take responsibility for my actions. My immaturity was more relationship based than responsibility based.

@@juliet4093 So because of her young age the officer doesn't have to search her properly? He didn't know her enough so as not to be surprised when the empty beer can suddenly fell to the ground, while the female officer conducted her search at the station. He therefore could not have ruled out that she had smuggled something else - such as a weapon - into his patrol car. This negligence _is_ an unnecessary risk to the lives of both involved and uninvolved people. Unfortunately, age only says a limited amount about people's criminal energy. So police, among other professions, should therefore _always_ carry out their work conscientiously, regardless of how young or old a person is, regardless if its a female or a male person and also regardless of whether one knows the person, is friends with relatives, one _believes_ to know this person inside out, or one thinks that everything will be alright, because one doesn't have a known aggressive criminal in front of you. But, dear Juliet, I agree with you that she certainly hasn't had a criminal career in the strict sense, she definetly is - as you say - "not some hardened criminal" up to this point. DUI/OWI is not a trivial offense, *but* it probably won't help her if you treat her impersonally and strictly. But it is just as unhelpful if you trivialize and downplay everything .

I got sober for the first time at 19. I was clean for a year and relapsed on a beer… I was out for a few months and ended up back in rehab on Feb 28, 2013. I’ve been clean and sober since.. I can say as a 19-21 year old with an under developed brain and using substances, she is not thinking clearly. Nothing she’s doing makes sense. No one should expect it to.. it’s an irrational thought process…. I hope she gets the help she needs… I’ve lost almost all of my lifelong best friends, and countless class mates and friends I met in recovery. It’s so heartbreaking to watch people struggle. She’s hurting so bad 😢

Although she’s a total brat, I hope she gets the help she needs. Her con artist behavior is classic addict, but she can be helped. The officers unfortunately fell for some of her expert manipulation and failed to properly search her. This could have ended badly for everyone if she had been hiding a weapon.

She had some car hit and run a month before and apparently wasn't even sentenced for v that...she's a master manipulator and people buy into it. She's going to be well into her late forties...long after she can't use her looks and flipping her hair around before she'll ever be held accountable. She'll probably be dead or have killed someone else before THAT even happens. I'm just like you. I was infuriated that the cop never caught on. He didn't do her any favors.
