    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've always moved my hips side to side. Never knew there's a figure 8 hip movement in bachata. It's definitely hard doing this move while making the steps though.

    Happy to help! About the move, don't worry, you will get it with practice. First learn it really well doing it in place, no steps. Afterwards while stepping in place and only then on the basic step :D

    You are authentic, funny, and nurturing. I think you, aided by your partner, give great instruction, but for me, it's the unique energy signature you transmit during lessons that make me enjoy yours a bit more than other dance instructors.

    Thank you. This is the purpose... To many artists, instructors and so on... Don't give the real information. This are tricks behind the scenes. Hope it helps.

    Another awesome tutorial! I have a question tho how do you lead this to a girl from shadow position?

  • @MariusElenaBachata

    @MariusElenaBachata

    5 жыл бұрын

    This is not a move that necessarily is led from the shadow position. This helps both the men and the girl to have better control over their hips and is more used as styling by the girl. With a lot of practice you can lead it just by having a good connection and leading from the hips.

    Do I use my obliques at any point to move my hips?

  • @MariusElenaBachata

    @MariusElenaBachata

    11 ай бұрын

    Short answer : Yes. In almost all hip movements you use your obliques, of course, in different percentage. Some moves use them more, others less.

    So you do figure 8 when stepping to left/right?

  • @MariusElenaBachata

    @MariusElenaBachata

    Yes. You can also do them when stepping in place.

    Hips and the hand movement is hard for me , but ill keep practicing . I don’t want my girlfriend to feel like she cant dance with me whenever she wants lol

    The figure 8 is easy for me while standing BUT.. it is more confusing while I am doing the Bachata steps.

  • @MariusElenaBachata

    @MariusElenaBachata

    Try doing it very slow, on each step. As your body gets used to it, do it faster and faster.

    Is side to side wrong

  • @MariusElenaBachata

    @MariusElenaBachata

    Side to side is good. "8 figure" is used more by the girls BUT it is really good as an exercises for men as well, for hip mobility and control.
