Your interpretation of Kim's comment is great. Kim is German and they structure their sentences differently, my grandmother and mother's first language is German so I was used to it. She realized when she was saying it she was translating incorrectly and tried to correct but then figured everyone gets the point. Loved the video.

I am German and live in an English speaking country and I can confirm this too. When I switch between languages it's easy to get the sentence structure wrong or use weird phrasing that only works in the other language.

Also I would love to see how passed off he would be as well reacting to how Steven Avery nephew was gaslighted by police and dectives honestly I think he may need to get involved in this case becuase this is that bad. Thank you for this great analysis, as always. I want to add my observation to Harry Styles, who obviously was not feeling 100% well that night, who had that huge problem with the platform turning the wrong direction during the performance, and had to hear ppl shout Beyoncé should have deserved his Grammy. My impression was, that with all these different emotions going on inside him, there could not have been a better person than this beautiful superfan lady to give him the Grammy. This was such a warm, granny-like unbiased safe hug that was so good for Harry as well. There was as much receiving for himself as giving to her imo. It was my moment of the Grammys.

As an English second language speaker, here is my opinion: With Kim, when she uhhs, she is German and would feel all the emotions & communication in her head in German when she tried to speak English. Also, when she speaks, she needs to translate everything in her head into English. When I am emotional, my English grammar is incorrect and although I am fluent in English, I struggle to speak English which make me feel insecure in my competency in English as everything inside me screams in my home language.

I could DEFINITELY see this in Bad Bunny's acceptance speech. He tried for English, but you could basically see him just mentally throw up his hands, and Spanish just poured out. I don't blame him, either! When you know exactly what you want to express, it's best to use a language in which you can.

I agree with you, English is my second language, Spanish is my first and when I am very excited/ frustrated or anything emotional my mind is trying really hard to translate not only the words but grammar which leads to me either freezing up or having like a word salad due to them being complete opposite and my mind is getting overwhelmed like "Shoot, I messed up, ah just forget it." That flight or fight response hits.

Spidey, for the first singer in the red dress, when she had the bilateral arm shrug where the elbows came out, I felt that it represented making a space and stepping into it. In other words, she said “ my mom believed me that I was a girl “, and she had a moment of relief in saying that (a mental/emotional process to say that), then the elbows was to make space. Her confidence rose and her elbows made space and walked into what is her current self. All in a split second.

With Kim’s arm gesture: I don’t really think this is what it is in this situation, but sometimes if I’m wearing a dress or top that is a bit uncomfortable I will move my arms in that way to make a slight adjustment or make myself a bit more comfortable. I think because of how the gesture lines up with what she is saying it’s more likely to be one of the reasons you mentioned, but thought it’s worth noting that those fancy award dresses can be a bit uncomfortable, not breathable, or feel a bit unnatural so I might subconsciously look for a moment where I can adjust myself.

I was actually thinking along the same lines, but wondering if it was more about her not wanting to move her shoulders bc of the fit of the dress. Love, love, love this video, Spidey- so fascinating and just a pleasure to learn things from your knowledge bank and fair-minded presentation. That Harry Stiles moment started out right also because Trevor Noah is an aware and generous man - taking almost an awkward amount of time stop, cross over a bunch of people, and include the fan/guest in the presentation. I loved that, too. I've got to say, being able to do these spontaneous things at such a huge venue also takes a secure sense of self because it's going off script for what's "supposed" to happen. Loved seeing all the people you showed here. (Re J-Lo and Ben, it must really stink to be having a glitchy day when you're famous!)

I wouldve placed Harry Styles into the "people collector" group. Sure he enjoyed the experience and wants to take it in, but his focus was imidiantly on the people around him. The way he engaged with that lady and the other nominies made me think shareing this moment with them was his top priority.

It's very interesting what you said about the mouth blocking during experiencing the emotions. I think the most common sign of it we can see on all the proposal videos where so many usually girls cover their mouth and I think it also may show their insecurities, like maybe my teeth aren't 100% what I'd like them to be, maybe my mom was telling me all my life to cover my mouth or not keep them opened, maybe I am insecure about my facial expression when I am showing that shock, or simply I am not sur eif my lipstick hasn't bled on my teeth. Food for thought eh?

Totally agree! I always cover my mouth when I'm laughing in public because I hate my teeth. I don't want to do it and it's very deliberate. I also stop myself from giving a big bright smile and that often makes me look like I'm smirking. I hate it but I'm still not prepared to show my crooked front teeth. It sucks and I'm not blocking my '' true feelings'' about a person or situation, except maybe my self hate lol.

It's the exact reaction he's looking for. And then he pretends he's only just seen the camera & nothing is up. It's all exaggerated which tells me he's mucking around.
